The Cat Hotline Is Here to Help

After graduating, Chen Xinian found a job as a hotline operator through the community. On her first day at work, she discovered that all her colleagues were cats. Her job was to take calls from big and little cats, handling their complaints and questions, then helping coordinate a response. “Complaint: A human poured water into a cat's home. That's so mean!” After receiving the complaint, staff immediately went to investigate. They found that the location was actually an abandoned drainpipe. Due to the recent heavy rainfall, community workers had cleared the blockage and reopened it. The family of calico cats had now been rehoused. “Question: My human was kicked out of the house when she grew up. Can a cat adopt her?” An investigation at the scene found that the person in question had not been kicked out. After getting a job, she had moved to another city and rented a place. By the time staff arrived to investigate, the cat who had called had already traveled a hundred miles to its human's home. Staff helped coordinate the matter, and the human living independently was temporarily placed in the caller cat's care. “Complaint: Mom always favors my older sister. She lets her eat at the table and gives her yummy food in the little room, but doesn't give any to the cat. The cat is sad.” After verifying the situation, staff found that the caller's older sister and mother were human. They ate separately in a small room away from the cat to keep it from eating things it shouldn't. The staff and cat workers had explained this to the little orange caller many times, but the kitten refused to accept it and insisted on getting a taste. “Complaint: Cats keep holding meetings on my car and leaving paw prints everywhere. Please have the community drive them off.” “Sure, we'll handle it right away... Hm?” Chen Xinian, so busy she was dizzy, was astonished to find that the complaint had come from a human.
