An index. DaoSearch catalogues Chinese web novels and points you at the platforms that publish them. No chapters are hosted here and none ever will be. If you want to read a book, the link on its page takes you to the site that actually has it.

Titles, synopses, covers, rankings and comments come from public web-novel platforms and belong to those platforms and to the authors who wrote them. We gather them for discovery, credit the source on every page, and link back to it.

The English you read is machine translation with the original Chinese kept beside it. It is good enough to search and browse by, and it will sometimes be wrong. Treat the Chinese as the source of truth.

DaoSearch is independent. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Qidian, Yuewen, or any other platform we index.

Browse it, search it, share links to it: that's what it's for. What we ask is that you don't try to take the whole catalogue by automation or hammer the site hard enough to spoil it for everyone else. We rate-limit rather than ban, but persistent abuse gets blocked.

Accounts are optional and free. You sign in with Google or Discord, so keeping that account secure is what keeps yours secure.

What you save is yours. It's private, we don't sell it or share it. Email us whenever you like and we'll send you a copy of it or delete your account.

If an account is used to abuse the site, we may delete it. We'll only do that for abuse, never because of what someone chose to save.

Your username and picture are public, so they need to be fine for anyone to see. No slurs, nothing hateful or sexual, and nothing that pretends to be DaoSearch, our moderators or somebody else. Some names are blocked outright for the same reason.

If yours breaks that, we'll replace it. A username gets a new generated one, and an uploaded picture is deleted and swapped for a generated avatar. You'll get a notification on the site telling you what we changed. After a username reset you can choose a name of your own straight away.

A username isn't yours to keep forever. When you give one up it's held for you for 30 days, and after that anyone can take it.

Reports are how you tell us a book or a booklist has something wrong with it, and a person reads every one. You can send up to 20 a day, or 5 a day while your account is less than a day old.

Your report is posted, with your username, where every member of our Discord can read it. Keep it about the listing, and leave out personal information, yours or anyone else's.

We decide what to change, and whichever way we go you'll hear back in your notifications. If an account uses reports to spam or abuse us, we may stop its reports from reaching us.

DaoSearch is offered as it stands, with no warranty. Data can be stale, incomplete, or wrong, and pages can change or disappear as the sources we read from change. The same goes for your saved novels: we look after them, but don't make DaoSearch the only place you keep a list that matters to you.

If something here is wrong, or you hold the rights to something you'd rather we didn't show, email us with a link and we'll fix or remove it.
