The County Town Girl Who Fell from the Sky [Ancient to Modern]

My next book will be The 1970s: Practicing Chinese Medicine in Hong Kong. It’s also about traveling from ancient times to the present, so feel free to add it to your reading list. The story in one sentence: An ancient county town transmigrates to the modern era. After an earthquake, satellites detect a county town that has suddenly appeared in a flattened gorge. As if it had fallen from the sky. People discover that the town has ancient city walls and buildings, and that soldiers and civilians dressed in ancient clothing are still living inside. The place is in ruins, a horrifying sight. After conducting various tests and searching through historical records, scholars finally determine that this small county town, which appeared out of nowhere, comes from 1,100 years ago. It is called Diyang. It has crossed through time to arrive here. The historical records state: “In the seventh year of Guanghe, rebels slaughtered Diyang, and the county was left empty. Within three years, the city gates and walls had collapsed, and weeds covered the roads. By the end of Xiping, its former site could no longer be identified...” Diyang County, an utterly ordinary ancient county town. In an era of war and chaos, the town is surrounded by rebels and besieged for half a year, cut off from the outside world and reduced to an isolated city. With their food supplies exhausted, the people can only survive on tree bark and wild roots. Just as the horror of parents eating their own children seems about to unfold, the people of Diyang County discover that overnight, they have arrived in a strange new world. This world has dazzling lights, all kinds of miraculous sights they can’t understand, more food than they could ever eat, and more clothes than they could ever wear... It fills them with fear, but also with longing... P.S.: This is a fictional parallel world, so please don’t try to link it to reality. It’s an ensemble cast story, and probably won’t be too long. Probably? Since it’s an ensemble cast story, some characters will have romantic pairings, and it will compare ancient and modern views of marriage. So it isn’t being labeled as a no-romance story, but romance isn’t a major focus. At its heart, this is a slice-of-life development story told from an unusual perspective. It focuses more on everyday family matters, has a slow pace, and isn’t a power fantasy. Theme: Cherish the good life.
