Come check it out!] Story blurb: After going through multiple loops, Matsuda realized that, for some reason, his friends from the academy always called him shortly before they died. Matsuda still remembered how, in the first loop, his childhood friend died in an explosion while on the phone with him. Four years later, Matsuda himself died in an explosion. When he opened his eyes again, he was back fifteen minutes before his childhood friend got into trouble. He kicked the lunch box out of his friend's hands. Four years later, his own lunch box never arrived on schedule. But then his dear friend from the academy called him. “Matsuda, I have something I need to give to Zero, but my situation is a little complicated right now. I don't dare contact Zero directly. You're the only person I can trust. Could you pass it on to Zero in a few days?” Matsuda: “?” And so he listened to the entire story of how his good friend died in the line of duty. In the blink of an eye, a new loop began, and that guy, Morofushi, called him. Matsuda: “Don't say anything yet. Let me talk.” Morofushi: “?” Matsuda: “Hiro, you've been exposed. Want me to come save you?” Morofushi: “???” How do you know that? In another loop, Date called him, and sure enough, Matsuda heard about a car accident. When he opened his eyes again, it was a new loop. “Captain,” Matsuda said with practiced ease, “wait for me to come save you.” Date: “...?” What happened to him? He didn't even know anything was wrong! Matsuda: “Don't worry. I'm great at saving people.” After receiving so many calls from people about to die, Matsuda thought he would end up with PTSD. But in reality, he went from being alarmed to gradually growing numb. After all, when you've watched those people live and die right in front of you, then come back from the dead, it doesn't seem all that scary. Once you get a death call, you can just start over and save them. What's not to like? Out of the five of them, three had already called him before dying, not counting Matsuda himself. That left just the police academy's top student. Matsuda figured that, barring any surprises, that guy would call him before he died too. So one day, after getting a call from a certain blond bastard, Matsuda's first words were, “You're about to die, right? If you aren't dead yet, I'll hang up.” Furuya: “???” This guy was hoping he'd die, wasn't he?? Content note: The story mainly focuses on Matsuda and the other members of the police academy group. The other characters all have equally little screen time; no one is being singled out. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is only a background reference, and Saiki is the only one who appears. This is a story about loops, reincarnation, and multiple rounds. There will be times when people can't be saved. The characters' intelligence is limited by the author's. Please don't compare characters to put them down. The story will be revised from time to time. If you notice a plot hole or continuity error, let me know and I'll fix it. (If it was intentional, I won't do anything about it.) New story blurb below Hagiwara died, then came back to life. But when Hagiwara woke up, he found himself on November 8, the day after his childhood friend died. ...The news playing on the TV and the pile of unread text messages on his phone were almost enough to crush him. To make matters worse, several of his other dear friends also died one after another. Gritting his teeth, Hagiwara signed another contract with System 996, the one that had brought him back to life, and returned to the past. Unfortunately, the earliest point in time he could return to was November 8, the day he woke up. He couldn't save his childhood friend. But to save his other friends, Hagiwara made a decision: in this life, he would go undercover and infiltrate the distillery. = Matsuda died, then Matsuda was brought back to life. Not only had he lost all his memories, he'd even turned into a high school student! System 007, which spoke with him like a comedy duo, declared righteously: Only high school students can save the world! So go save the world, my Host! 007 also figured out that the source of everything was an extra bottle of whiskey at the distillery, and wanted Matsuda to get close to it and uncover the truth. With 007's help, Matsuda successfully infiltrated the distillery and met the extra bottle of whiskey. But why did this bottle of liquor somehow feel so familiar? And 007 told him that this whiskey was his childhood friend, who should have died. = After meeting their childhood friends at the distillery, Hagiwara and Matsuda were both baffled by the fact that the other was alive and had ended up at the distillery. They discussed it with their respective Systems. 996: The evil organization must have taken Matsuda away on the Ferris wheel, faked his death, and erased his memories. That's why you mourned your husband for three years, Host! 007: The evil organization must have taken Hagiwara away before the explosion, faked his death, and erased his memories. That's why you spent four years as a widow, Host! Hagiwara and Matsuda thought it made perfect sense, so they secretly swore: I'll take my childhood friend and get out of this damn organization! Theme: There will be a time to ride the wind and break the waves; I'll save my dear friends myself
