Something's Not Quite Right with This Divine Son

Coming soon: I Became a Background Character in Detective Conan. Blurb below "Thank you all for supporting the official release. Mwah!" Ivan is a divine child, the real deal, personally chosen by the higher-ups. The gods are devoted to making him their perfect representative, but the divine child has been dazzled by the big, wide world. His delayed rebellious phase has finally arrived. The divine child ran away. And blew up the house on his way out. :) After leaving the temple, Ivan started doing whatever he wanted, roaming from world to world and getting up to all kinds of indescribably bizarre things without a care in the world. His goal was to mess up so badly that he could get himself killed sooner. Until one day, a transmigration went wrong, and the kind Oda family took him in. Thanks to his clean-cut, harmless, endearing appearance, the Oda family quickly accepted him as one of their own. Having finally found the "family" he'd always longed for, Ivan was sweet and obedient, and decided to behave himself for a while. But trouble always came out of nowhere. The people he'd wronged, along with the victims he'd left behind, came knocking. :) The real creditor: a certain high schooler living inside a house, the curse grandpa (with a benevolent smile): "You little brat, I've caught you." The startled, weak, pitiful, helpless divine child (eyes shaking.jpg): "Why are you here?!" The fake victim: a black-hearted factory owner, the scum boss (eyes shaking x2.jpg): "Why are you here again?!" Reader's guide: 1. Contains lots of my own headcanons. OOC and original plot warnings. 2. The divine child is doted on by everyone. His pairing is with Sukuna. It's settled! 3. World crossover. 4. Please be civil while reading. Don't argue or give unsolicited writing advice. The author is a little mess, and doesn't have enough brain cells. 5. If you like it, please add it to your favorites. - I Became a Background Character in Detective Conan Blurb: When Ueno Akimi was eating at a restaurant, a scene flashed through his mind. In the scene, he was standing among several masked men with a gun pointed at his forehead. After police negotiations failed, he became the first hostage to be killed. Ueno Akimi: ...? A voice told him he was a background character in a certain crime-solving anime, and could get dragged into all kinds of shootings, explosions, kidnappings, and criminal cases at any moment. In five minutes, he'd be killed by the robber's gun. There was only one way to survive: join the anime's main plot, get more moments in the spotlight, and become a popular character. To stay alive, Ueno Akimi went straight home and changed his application to the police academy, hoping the state would train his future self to take on ten people at once. Join the main plot? As if! Who'd want to do something that exhausting? Among the new police academy students this year, one person stood out. He always had a miserable look on his face, would lie down rather than sit whenever possible, and dropped straight to the ground whenever they called for a break during training. Everyone wondered how someone like that had passed the physical exam. Then came the monthly test, and he ranked first in his year. A new character in the police academy group bonus chapter sparked heated discussion on a manga forum. [Akimi really kills me. He's been enrolled for half a year and still can't remember what his classmates look like.] [Zero, who missed first place by one point: I'll definitely win next time! Akimi, with his miserable face: ...Huh? Oh, sure. Sorry, who are you?] [Going by this plot, will Akimi join the five-man group as their sixth member and go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department with them?] [Akimi: Don't come near me.] [The five-man group thinks that after going through life and death together so many times, they're already friends with Akimi. Meanwhile, Akimi's thinking: ...Who is this again? What's the name of the guy next to him? Why is this blond guy glaring at me again? Ugh, what a pain.] [Damn, I can picture it.] Ueno Akimi, who had firmly rejected the main plot, had no idea he'd gradually stopped being a background character. During his time at the academy, he never wasted a single ounce of energy on anything besides training. During one incident, he and his classmates accidentally infiltrated an underground organization and became undercover agents, staying there for several years. One day, he received a special order: the organization wanted him to investigate whether a missing high school detective was still alive. Ueno Akimi, who had only remembered the protagonist's name from the main plot, stared at the report about a guy called Tumble Dryer and fell silent. Theme: Only by laughing and crying can we be called human.
