Perriland Academy welcomed a new transfer student. He was handsome, but his name was bizarre. His surname was Bai, and his given name was [Crisp, Fresh Cabbage].

Though his style was utterly bizarre, the transfer student did a lot and saved a lot of people. He seemed capable of anything, from soaring through the sky to diving underground.

Everyone, gradually getting used to it: If it’s him, then there’s nothing he can’t handle.

They grew used to his presence, the chaos he brought, and the miracles he worked. And to his love.

But on day N, ■■■■, and the all-capable transfer student never woke up again.

A pixel-art game suddenly appeared on Bai Fuling’s phone. Curious, he opened it and picked a name at random: [Crisp, Fresh Cabbage]. After realizing how much freedom the game offered, he got into playing it.

He loved making the little character do whatever he wanted, taking the most unconventional routes and having fun however he could.

Too bad the game had no save feature. Time could only move forward, and when he wasn’t playing, he had to leave it running on autopilot.

Eventually, he got bored and casually picked an event to end the game, then uninstalled it without a second thought.

But starting one day after that, Bai Fuling began to hear things that weren’t there. While walking, after showering, and before going to sleep, he could always hear faint sobbing by his ear.

“...Bai... Bai... Where are you?”

The will of the world, born from the countless yearnings of people in that world, finally found the reality where Bai Fuling lived. Like a mass of sticky sludge, like tentacles slipping through every gap, it seeped into his world.

It pulled itself from the shadows and formed a boneless arm, wrapping it around the person lying in bed. Great drops of utterly cold tears fell.

“...Bai... Bai... I missed you... I found you.”

[Before You Read]

1. The protagonist thinks it’s a game, so he plays enthusiastically, taking bizarre and absurd routes and, in a way, becoming both a savior and everyone’s favorite. The male lead is an indescribable, shadowy world will with tentacles, so he’s probably nonhuman.

2. This isn’t a traditional split-personality story, and the NPCs don’t merge. The world is one stage in the nonhuman male lead’s process of observing, interacting with, understanding, and learning emotions. Neither lead is physically inside the game. It’s more like they’re both controlling game characters and dating online (?). They’re actually a genuine couple. If you really want to know what’s going on and don’t mind spoilers, read the second half of Chapter 217 first.

3. The player controls a pixel character in a game; he doesn’t enter the game in person, and the game and reality aren’t connected. In the game world, the protagonist is chaotic, amoral, eccentric, evil, and shameless. This is for readers who can accept anything and have no triggers.
