He has a gentle, handsome, wealthy owner who always keeps him safe and warm in the palm of his hand. His owner is perfect in every way, except that he keeps trying to teach him to sing. Shen Jingque refuses to sing. His dream isn’t to be a canary, but to fly free! Huo Yunyan patiently raised a canary for two years and tried everything to teach it to sing, but it wouldn’t make a sound. He thought the bird was stupid. Then one day, he forgot to close the screen window, and as the stupid bird flew away, it said goodbye to him. Huo Yunyan: “...” Find him! Turn the whole world upside down if you have to! Bring him back! I’m roasting him!!! Shen Jingque, who had brazenly flown off, raised his little claws and looked at the tracker on his ankle. He realized he was in big trouble. Before Huo Yunyan could pluck him bald and roast him, he came up with three escape plans. A: Find a firefighter. B: Swallow his pride and sing for Huo Yunyan. C: Stand his ground and keep being Huo Yunyan’s dad! Shen Jingque chose C without hesitation. Blurb posted June 4, 2022 New novel, "Rebellious Disciple", is now open! Blurb: Ai Chiyu is a short-legged orange cat in the cultivation world. He picks up a remarkably gifted disciple and calculates that the boy is destined for greatness. After twenty years together, Ai Chiyu has taught his disciple every trick he knows. He can’t come up with a single new technique! With tears in his eyes, he can only tell his disciple, “You foolish boy, our fated bond has run its course. Farewell.” His disciple begs him to stay, but Ai Chiyu heartlessly abandons him. Heartbroken, the disciple takes up the Path of Ruthlessness and masters it a century later. When they meet again, Ai Chiyu is still just getting by, while his former disciple has become the lofty Dao Lord Xuantan. The man’s eyes are cold and world-weary. “Has your new disciple not been taking good care of you?” Just look how thin his master has gotten. He clearly hasn’t eaten in half an hour (seven and a half minutes). They say Dao Lord Xuantan has become a human weapon who slays demons without batting an eye. Remembering their past, Ai Chiyu trembles with fear, steels himself, and pretends he isn’t the cat who caused all this trouble. In Xuantan’s eyes: He still looks down on me. From then on, by day, Dao Lord Xuantan is aloof and indifferent. By night, he desperately yearns for his master, the young man who treated him so well when he was at his lowest. Why did he abandon him? If his master says he’s stupid, he can change. If his master says there’s something wrong with him, here or there, he can change it all. His former disciple’s words jolt Ai Chiyu awake. He thinks, That’s right, I should find a new disciple with mediocre talent to take care of me! The master and disciple can slack off together! Just as Ai Chiyu is happily holding a disciple-selection event, his former disciple kicks open the hall doors and strides in with sword drawn, murder in his eyes. Ai Chiyu: He’s here! He’s here to take the head off my chubby orange cat body! Dao Lord Xuantan, face icy: You want a new disciple? Fine, but you’ll have to step over my corpse first. Theme: Never be a slave!
