Your Pheromones Smell So Sweet

As a Beta scholar determined to devote the rest of his life to scientific research, Xia Sh Ruan once rejected a little kid, back when he was young and ignorant, on the grounds that they were the wrong genders for each other. The little kid ran off heartbroken. Years later, he returned to C City with a vengeance. The mischievous child who had been only 1.4 meters tall had grown into a 1.88-meter adult Alpha with top-tier pheromones. Xia Sh Ruan kept his distance, but the guy wouldn’t stop pestering him. Xie Ji mocked him. “Xia Sh Ruan, long time no see. How come you’re still so short?” Xia Sh Ruan: “That’s normal. I’m a Beta.” Xie Ji said coldly, “Xia Sh Ruan, you’re so clueless. You’ll never find a wife at this rate.” Xia Sh Ruan: “I’m a Beta. There’s no rush to find a wife.” Xia Sh Ruan was impervious to all attacks, whether gentle or harsh. He wouldn’t take any taunts to heart. Ask him why and he’d say, “I’m a Beta. I have no feelings.” Until one day, Xia Sh Ruan differentiated into an Omega right in front of Xie Ji. Because he had differentiated so late, his glands were highly unstable. His nose was a hundred times more sensitive than an ordinary Omega’s, so the pheromones of most Alphas made him want to throw up. The only scent he liked was the light, sweet caramel smell on Xie Ji. Xia Sh Ruan was like a cat that had caught a whiff of catnip. Whenever Xie Ji appeared, he couldn’t help moving closer, and his cool, aloof image fell apart completely. He had expected Xie Ji to shove him away in disgust. Instead, Xie Ji looked as happy as if he had finally found leverage over him. He asked, pretending not to know, “Xia Sh Ruan, aren’t you a Beta? Why are you smelling me?” Xia Sh Ruan: “…” * One night, much later, Xia Sh Ruan wrapped his arms around Xie Ji’s neck and said softly, “Your pheromones smell like candy. They’re so sweet. I love it.” Xie Ji smiled. “It’s actually caramel latte, but other people usually only smell the latte.” He kissed him. “Everyone else thinks it’s bitter. You’re the only one who says it’s sweet.” ① Handsome, occasionally insufferable younger Alpha × serious-minded, innocent and adorably clueless scholar Omega ② A fluffy romance with little plot and no angst ③ I made up all the rules, so please ignore any inconsistencies.
