From the start, he draws a cool, black-hat-wearing frog. It's called Gin Frog (Gin). Cold and solitary, it couldn't care less about its player. Through persistent feeding, companionship, and the power of money, after several years, the aloof Gin Frog, who fiercely avoids strangers, finally begins to warm up. [Your Gin Frog sent you a postcard] [Gin: I dealt with two rats today.] Natsuki: Lab mice? Does Gin want to do research? I'll pay for this. I'll buy him a research institute to play with! [Loading…] Natsuki: Three years have passed. Has Gin published in an SCI journal? System: No. He's become the Black Organization's top killer. Natsuki: .? System: The research institute under your name [Black Organization] has become an international crime syndicate! Your evil deeds are known from Beika Town to America! Hojo Natsuki fell silent, then pointed at the adorable little frogs in his research institute and asked the System, “You call this an international crime syndicate?” Then he asked, “By the way, why are those animals that aren't frogs sneaking into my pond?” They seemed pretty hard-working, at least. System: Those are undercover agents from the Japanese police and the FBI. Natsuki: ? No wonder those little animals stood out like sore thumbs among the frogs! Hojo Natsuki thought it over. He sent undercover agent No. 1, Bourbon, to tighten screws at the Organization's toy factory; dispatched No. 2, Scotch, to sing and drum up sympathy on Japan's Got Talent; and as for the FBI's Rye… Rye could mop the floor, then go work as a security guard outside Bourbon's toy factory. Ha! So what if he bullied the little animals in the game? Could they jump out of the screen and hit him? …Then he accidentally discovered that the little cat Bourbon really had a police badge! Could his frog Organization actually be a criminal syndicate? Impossible. Absolutely impossible. What crimes could a bunch of little frogs commit? Besides, how could his sour-faced, bad-tempered, picky, irritable, tsundere, hard-to-understand little Gin Frog be a cold-blooded killer? * Until later, one soft, radiant dusk, when Hojo Natsuki spotted a silver-haired man in the distance on the street. A cigarette between his fingers, its red tip glowing and fading between long, slender bones. His tall frame stood out from the crowd, and his black trench coat outlined his broad shoulders and narrow waist. The traffic light changed. The man strode toward him, one long step at a time. The killer known as Gin kept his eyes fixed on him. After a long moment, he curled his lips into a cool, casual, dangerous smile. I've found you. * Hojo Natsuki at first: I found a frog, everyone! It's so cute. It wants to come home with me! Hojo Natsuki later: …I was joking, haha. Please don't actually follow me, I'm begging you qaq *This is a Detective Conan fanfic, not a Travel Frog fanfic. Bungo Stray Dogs is only a backdrop. The timeline is early, and the plot diverges completely from the original.
