A Dead Husband Is Better

The protagonist transmigrates to another world and discovers he has a powerful, obscenely rich husband. Good news: His husband is dying, and he's the sole heir to the man's estate. Bad news: His husband hates him and might leave all his money to charity. The protagonist pulls out every trick he has to woo his husband, and succeeds without a hitch. As the man lies dying, he holds the protagonist's fingers, his icy green eyes obsessive and dark. "...Don't forget me," he says. The protagonist gazes back at him with tender affection. "Of course, darling." As if. The protagonist is a consummate self-interested opportunist, a frivolous little peacock in the world of high society. His love is fake, but his love of power is real. Only when surrounded by money and influence can he feel even a little safe. But in a daze, he sometimes thinks of his ex-husband, and in moments as fleeting as a dream, he remembers tasting a little of that burning love. Just then, he meets a homeless boy who looks a bit like his ex-husband. On a whim, out of a little casual kindness, the protagonist takes him home and looks after him. There's no doubt about it: the boy falls in love with him. And there's even less doubt that this boy is his ex-husband, reincarnated. His ex-husband is one of the long-lived, immortal kind, reborn once every hundred years. At first, after seeing a photo of his ex-husband, the boy stays silent all night. Then, with a calmness that feels like the storm before the gale, he tells the protagonist: "I can wear that man's coat too. I want to stay by your side." Later, his cold green eyes shimmer with an icy gleam as he asks the protagonist in a chilly voice, "Can you forget him?" #JealousOfMyself #NTRingMyself Blurb to be revised. The writing goal may have been a tragic, all-consuming love story, but the finished product will probably be a slightly melodramatic comedy: a sweet-and-sour, cheesy love story. Arrogant and prejudiced x frivolous and materialistic Theme: Money and power can't buy true love, but a sincere heart can.
