Lindsay Knight believes she’s a mission-taker. Her task is to win over important characters in each current instance, collecting their “affection” as energy to help her transmigrate to the next world and come back to life in the real world. Young Bruce is drawn to a “bad” woman who is wise, mature, capable of anything, and always lying. But she vanishes as suddenly as she appeared, leaving only the dismissive promise, “We’ll meet again.” Only later does Bruce understand that she never lied to him.
