[Western Crossover] Torturing Superman Is the Fourth Catastrophe

Check out my new novel, The Superhero Cosplayer and the Monster Containment Officer, launching September 8 at 8 p.m. It’s a cosplay transmigration story (sort of) about tentacled monster containment specialist Ke Keken and “ordinary person” containment officer Bruce Wayne. Pairing: Corrupt Superman × Corrupt Batman (SuperBat, no switching or splitting) If Corrupt Superman is a gamer playing as one of the Fourth Disasters, then everything makes sense. He’s born evil Superman, but not quite that evil, and may be a bit like a gloomy ghost. The synopsis got too long, so the detailed content warnings are in the author’s note for Chapter One. Please don’t skip them, so you can avoid an unpleasant reading experience QAQ Clark recently found a very interesting game. Players can take on the roles of all kinds of superheroes, and the best part is that the game offers incredible freedom, even more than an open-world game. As a hopelessly clumsy gamer, Clark looked through the available heroes and eventually chose Superman, who was easy to play but absurdly powerful. After a marathon gaming session, he successfully unlocked a series of challenging achievements, including “The Fortress Sleepless at Night,” “True Love’s Bullet,” and “Justice League.” His inventory was so well-stocked that it had more items than the game shop. Looking at Batman, whose approval he had raised all the way from negative to max, Clark wept two broad tears. Of all the games he’d ever played, this was the hardest character to win over. But strangely, even at max approval, he still couldn’t enter a romantic relationship with Batman. To complete the achievement and claim his reward before Valentine’s Day, he used random matchmaking. And the moment the Valentine’s Day achievement was completed, Bruce’s approval dropped to 80... Seeing the approval he’d painstakingly built up plummet right back to square one, Clark nearly smashed his computer. He looked at the one remaining locked achievement, felt a sudden vicious impulse, and started killing without even remembering to save. [Ding! Congratulations on completing the achievement “Born Villain.” You are absolute evil, bringing destruction to the world.] [Ding! Congratulations on completing the hidden achievement “The Lover Who Never Existed.” Only after you killed the last person did he realize in despair that everything in the past had been a lie. He had fallen in love with a fictional ghost.] The moment the achievement appeared, a cutscene began. Clark stared in shock as Batman injected himself with a drug and killed the player in retaliation. But what Clark cared about more right now was that his gorgeous wife had turned into a monster. Damn it, who designed this plot? He was going to kill the son of a gun! “I really... did love you once, Clark...” The monster’s face was hideously twisted, but Clark felt like he was crying. [Ding! Congratulations, player, on completing the hidden achievement “Welcome to the Dark Universe.” Hello, and welcome back, dear player~] Theme: Even in darkness and adversity, have the courage to swim against the current
