Cosplaying Without Knowing the Source Material [Western Crossover]

Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent are chosen by the World Consciousness to play the World’s Finest, a duo from a world with the same name. The problem is, neither of them knows the original plot. Clark Kent: I’ve only been into the Superman/Batman ship for half a month! I haven’t even finished reading the basic comics! Bruce Wayne... remembered watching the Avengers fight the Purple Titan and wondering why Superman hadn’t shown up. He figured he was probably even more hopelessly out of the loop than his idiot childhood friend. And so, with the two of them muddling through their teamwork, the strangest DC parallel universe in history was born Bruce Wayne: Thomas was the worst father in the world. He was hardly ever there for me when I was a kid. All he did was impatiently tell me not to bother him while he searched for Captain America... Clark Kent, exhausted: Sure, both Tony and Bruce are billionaires, playboys, and superheroes, but you can’t just mix and match them however you like! Don’t pin Howard’s actions on Thomas! Even fictional characters have feelings! And, most importantly Where the heck did Captain America come from?! Bruce Wayne: Stares They’re both big and blue, both team leaders with a strong sense of teamwork, and both have a home in the Arctic. So maybe... Anyway, with a bunch of actors in tow, the two of them diligently put together a script, planning to act their way from World’s Finest all the way to Batman 3: Civil War. Who could have guessed their very first scene together would go wrong The three generations of Batmen who’d come through from the DCEU stared at the black-and-red figure streaking across the sky, their eyes wide with shock. Wasn’t I supposed to be doing Batman v Superman? What the heck is World’s Finest? Once the director finally managed to fool the real deal, their Joker cosplayer turned to a certain Red Hood and trembled: Man, I think I’ve got the wrong script. Could you let me go? Bruce Wayne is once again exhausted, trying to patch up the script today. T-T -- Reader’s Guide: 1. The pairing is Superman/Batman, with a little Constantine/Ted. The story will play matchmaker for Superman/Batman from other universes. Order: three generations → Arkham → main universe → Injustice → main universe → second generation → Kingdom Come. The bonus chapters will feature the real Avengers. 2. The two protagonists are ordinary people in a Superman/Batman AU. They never get found out, and the story is told mainly from their perspective, though, as the blurb suggests, there will also be separate perspectives from the other cosplayers. 3. The story’s biggest feature is its wild mash-up and alteration of all kinds of DC and Marvel plots. Think Captain America Superman, but Winter #Soldier# Red Hood (?). It’s really weird! The characters will inevitably be changed around too, so please proceed with caution if that’s not your thing! Check out my next story, Western Crossover: Dark Multiverse, but Make It a Secret Identity. For some reason, Ashley has to perform an entire superhero dark multiverse storyline by himself in a single universe. That’s right, just one person, and only one universe as the stage. So he has to keep creating secret identities and splitting himself into different roles just to make it to each scene. The whole universe’s trajectory becomes unpredictable and completely absurd. Today it’s the Injustice set, tomorrow it’s suddenly the Kingdom Come set, where he stages a fight with himself, and the day after he transforms into The Devastator. He’s the hardest-working mule around! Just as he’s started getting used to this life, spending every day hoping the world will end, the fabric of reality suddenly tears with a pop. The heroes from the normal world stare in shock at their corrupted selves. Uh-oh. This is bad. “So I might become a dictator, a Lord, or a high-functioning sociopath?” Superman shuts down. “I strongly oppose the faded-color Kryptonian! Superman, I take back what I said about your primary-color suit being tacky!” The Flash is horrified. “...” The Batfamily stares at a certain smiling Bat. They’ve already been standing there for a while. Superheroes embody justice and kindness. They fight with everything they have to save that broken world, but the answer seems to point to a nebulous fate beyond human control That twisted universe has already been destroyed more than once, and it is doomed to be destroyed again. “Why meddle in things that aren’t your concern?” The young man, suspected of being the mastermind, hides in the darkness and speaks with a cold, half-smile. “It’s merely a substitute destined to be destroyed. You don’t need to concern yourselves with it.” #I said stop imagining everyone carving themselves up! #There’s no villain, no conspiracy.
