From NPC to Five-Star Card [Genshin Impact]

[New novel: Honkai: Star Rail, but an Aeon RPG, now open] By the time I first realized this world was a game, I had already lived a happy life in Liyue for twenty years. I didn't feel like the sky was falling. I was just curious about who the game's protagonist was. When I first realized I was a game NPC, I stayed perfectly calm. Sure, game NPCs are disposable, but if the sky falls, Rex Lapis will hold it up... Wait, what?! Rex Lapis is gone! ...I'm just scaring myself. Rex Lapis is wise and mighty, blessed with boundless good fortune. How could anything happen to him? A retired Geo Archon is still an Archon, isn't he? What's there to panic about? When I discovered that giving a blond-haired player something called Primogems could earn their favor, and that I could be hugged around the leg and called “Mom and Dad” if I crafted a version event and made the stages less complicated, or simply gave the rewards away, I could even order them to do all sorts of things we NPCs couldn't. I looked at the mining license at home and the Primogems piled up with nowhere to put them, feeling conflicted. I thought I'd become the kind of winner who coasted to an easy life by relying on the protagonist, like in those stories about the fourth calamity. But then news of war reached me. I heard that countless people had died in the neighboring nations of Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine... for all sorts of reasons, and that the world of Teyvat itself was on the brink of destruction. I sat bolt upright, though I was at death's door. Game NPCs really are disposable! To survive, to preserve my wonderful life in Liyue, and for the long-haired beauty in black whom I had glimpsed only once and hadn't even had the chance to win over! I want to become a five-star character! I want to become a fan favorite! I want to become the players' waifu! I want to become the game planner's own mother (not really)! Surely the game planner wouldn't kill off a popular five-star character, right?! 1. The love interest is the Captain. 2. An unconventional System. 3. The heroine could sort of be considered a Descender. 4. Anyway, I've made up a lot of rumors... (closes eyes) Coming soon: [Honkai: Star Rail] The Legendary Nameless, Xiaoyu Blurb: She only needs to stand over there, and we know victory will surely belong to The Mayan princess of the Feathered Serpent God, the heir to the bloodline of the Saint Seiya, the queen of the Shadowkhan with far greater charisma than Shendu, a talisman affinity through the roof, the founder of the Dragon Team, the T-Girl, friend to monsters and animals, the chronicler of the Book of Ages, the future top agent of Section 13, the Child of Destiny, and also the youngest Nameless and Emanator of Elation in history. Xiao! Yu!! Give her a talisman, and she can transmigrate to the world of Honkai: Star Rail. Give her a staircase, and she can teleport anywhere, whether she's been there before or not. Even Akivili would sit up in their coffin and admit that when it comes to Trailblazing, they're still a little inferior. Give her a Curio, and she can catch Aha's attention. Give her a star skiff, and Lord Ravager Phantylia will raise the white flag on the spot and announce that she's joining the Shadowkhan. Give her an invitation, and she can bring Dragon Team 2.0 back to life in Penacony. Give her the identity of one of the Chrysos Heirs, and Amphoreus's sage Anaxagoras will start researching how walking up stairs can save the world. Even General Jing Yuan of the Xianzhou Luofu had this to say: “It's not that the Reignbow Arbiter isn't worth summoning. It's just that the unusual unit Xiaoyu gives you better value for your money.” The epic documentary The Legend of Xiaoyu continues to air. Theme: Live life well.
