Can Players Pursue Gotham's Vigilantes? [Western Crossover]

[Western Crossover pre-release: [Western Crossover] Becoming Batman's Dad, Starting in Gotham] For Superman/Batman shenanigans, see the story next door, Can Players Have a Batman? 1. Player Clark fell in love at first sight with Gotham's vigilante after seeing him in a promotional video. Shouting "Batman! Wife!" he charged into the game Multiverse: Endgame. The first thing he did after learning the vigilante's location was fly to Gotham and yell for him. Player [brimming with confidence]: Hey, wife! The vigilante himself: ... Robin: Pfft Player AKA Clark was rewarded with a Kryptonite beatdown for his trouble. 2. Player Clark kept coming back for more. At last, through sheer persistence, he, the newcomer, beat out childhood friend Bruce and won Gotham's vigilante's heart. But then something unexpected happened: Bruce started pursuing Clark. Player: ? Player: That's not right. Don't you like Batman?! Bruce AKA Batman himself [smiling]: I don't mind a threesome. Player sneers. He's a devoted true-love warrior and a paragon of chastity. "I'd rather die right here, jumping off the Daily Planet, than be with you!" Later, after discovering that Gotham's vigilante is Bruce himself, the player scrambles over and clings to Bruce's leg. Clark [clinging to Bruce's leg]: Bruce, I take it back! Wife, love me again! Waaaah! Gotham's vigilante AKA Bruce: Heh... 3. Bruce has always believed that hope comes from darkness. He walks the edge of crime, keeps company with madness, and becomes an unspeakable secret. The world is crumbling. The universe is ending. No one can save him. Until a dumb alien charges in, kicks down the door to his heart, and drags him out by force. Clark looks at him, brilliant blue eyes brimming with love and sorrow. He holds out his heart to Bruce. "Even if the world turns upside down and time starts over." "No matter how many times we begin again, I won't let go of your hand." "I love you, Bruce." "So please, don't give up." In that moment, Bruce sees hope. "You are the origin of myth, the miracle we all believe in."* I'll write worlds like White Ash, Earth-3, and Absolute Power, but don't worry, our main couple will still be doing great. *Taken from the original work A new story is now available for pre-order. Expected to launch in October or November 2026. Everyone is welcome! [Western Crossover] Becoming Batman's Dad, Starting in Gotham What do you do when you're bound to a villain template in the DC universe? Vincent: "Seriously?" 01. My name is Vincent. I currently work for the Court of Owls in Gotham City, USA, Earth. You can send me packages at that address. Oh, and don't call me Vincent in Gotham. Call me Thomas. Thomas Wayne is my secret identity in Gotham. The Waynes are killed by muggers in an alley, and young Bruce loses his parents. The Court of Owls takes one look and says, "Hey, I've got an idea." [pointing meme] I just go along with it. After all, my retirement pension depends on the Court. What are you looking at, youngster? Retirement contributions are important! Bruce may have lost his parents, but he's still got me! I can absolutely be the guide he needs in life! [in that tone] 02. In Bruce Wayne's memories, his father is kind after losing his memory. He tells Bruce stories about Kryptonians, the Green Lantern Corps, Martians, and the multiverse. After his wife dies, Thomas is consumed by grief and spends years wandering. Maybe seeing each other would only bring them pain. The birthday gifts he sends every year are the only proof he's still alive. It isn't until Bruce becomes Batman and meets the Justice League that he discovers those stories were actually true. After years of causing trouble and becoming a wanted man to every faction around, Mr. Vincent Thomas returns to Gotham to visit family. He looks at Batman's huge family and falls silent. Vincent trembles. "Am I going to be a grandpa, too?" Bruce: "Yep." 03. "Friends, the heroes' show has begun." "Prosperity and corruption are both here, in the present." Batman helps the wounded Superman to his feet and looks up with difficulty at Vincent, who is punching out one superhero after another. Vincent, dressed in a suit, gives a slight bow. "Then let me see the brilliance of humanity." Superman: "Uh, Batman, is that your dad up there?" Superman hesitates. "Is he going to be a villain too?" Batman: "Yes." Discussion thread: What did Vincent do to get listed as a high-risk villain by the Justice League? 1L Gotham vigilante-for-hire: He was behind Red Hood breaking into Arkham last week to beat up the Joker. Reply to 1L: Going by the name, that sounds like something Red Hood would do. 2L Insomniac CEO: He also drank the ten pounds of coffee that went missing from Wayne Manor. Reply to 2L: Did he drink enough to become a giant? 3L Random Bludhaven cop passing by: He broke into my kitchen and ate ten sandwiches! Reply to 3L: You and the CEO from 2L should sit together. 4L: Famous Robin: He brought down Wayne Enterprises. Reply to 4L: Now you're just making things up! Vincent's only verified account: Grandson, you sure are filial enough to make me cry. Vincent's only verified account: This is so touching. When will Vincent finally escape his dysfunctional family? Batman replies: Never. Adopted kids, a fake dad, an older Alfred, and a broken him. Batman: :) Blurb subject to revision. This is the temporary final version. The premise won't change: Batman-dad fiction, sort of. Theme: Love is not twisted
