After Getting Separated from My Slime, Dazai Set His Sights on Me

[The neighboring danmei novel Dazai Sensei Is Watching in Secret is complete, and the new work Dazai Cat Is Farming and Slacking Off is now underway. If you're interested, please check them out =3=] Hanami Akari, a slime caretaker from another world, transmigrated. There were two pieces of good news. One was that the slimes she raised had transmigrated with her. The other was that she could use magic in this world, too. There were also two pieces of bad news. One was that all the slimes had gone missing. The other was that this world had no magic, only supernatural abilities. After finding her first slime, Akari discovered a third piece of bad news. The slimes' diet had changed. Now, they mainly fed on supernatural abilities, and they were unusually excited by ability users. In a world full of ability users, it would be very bad if people found out that slimes could devour supernatural abilities. So all she could do was... Akari: I've decided! I'll disguise devouring abilities as the power to nullify them! New Detective Agency member Dazai: Oh? After promptly finding a job at Uzumaki Cafe and sorting out a place to stay, Akari ran into a difficult man. Because of the unusual nature of her slimes and magic, Akari was forced to maintain two completely different identities. In public: Hanami Akari, an ordinary cafe employee. In secret: A mysterious ability user disguised by her slimes' special powers. She worked while keeping the existence of her slimes and magic hidden, searching for the rest of her scattered slimes, and, while she was at it... Trying to outwit a certain bastard. The mysterious ability user who took Kunikida flying, knocked out Akutagawa, and gave Chuuya a free perm had nothing to do with the ordinary, ability-less Hanami Akari. Right? All she had to do was find food for the little ones at home, and... As luck would have it, the slimes liked that bastard's ability best of all. Akari: What a coincidence. (deadpan) - Later, Akari kept her secret identity under wraps and struck a deal with someone to feed the slimes. Dazai held one slime in each hand, with another curled up in his arms, and drew out his words as he complained: "I feel like Miss Akari has completely turned me into a feeding machine for Arou and the others." "Did Mr. Dazai figure it out?" "Because you aren't even trying to hide it, Miss Akari!" "Mm, true." "...I miss how awkward we were when we first met." "Mr. Dazai can go home and reminisce all he wants." "? No, wait, wait, wait, wait! Don't kick me out!" - After one of them caught on to their feelings... "I like you, Mr. Dazai." "?!" "So I hope we can become friends." "...Miss Akari, you're an idiot." "...?" But after they both caught on to their feelings... Dazai smiled as he gave her a taste of her own medicine: "I would never have improper thoughts about a friend." - Later, the two showed up at the Armed Detective Agency wearing matching slim bracelets made from slimes. One lazily clung to the other and acted coy, practically hanging off him; The other calmly peeled him off, only to reach out and take his hand, interlacing their fingers. The Agency members: ...After all that back and forth, have these two hopeless romantics finally started dating? - Did Akari find her slimes today and return to her original world? No. Not only did she fail to return, she ended up moving in beside a certain walking bandage-wasting machine. 1. My take on Armed Detective Agency Dazai as the romantic lead. 2. Set in the Bungo Stray Dogs world, but the female lead is from another world, can use magic, and has slimes with her. 3. There aren't many secret-identity shenanigans. Romance is the focus, while the slimes and secret identity add variety. Early on, neither of them has sorted out their feelings, so her secret identity gets involved in events (the pet shop incident). In the middle and later parts, the female lead herself is more often drawn into events. 4. This is a slow-burn romance (emphasis on slow) about Dazai caring for slimes and the two of them playing emotional tug-of-war. Once they start dating, the female lead will spoil Dazai rotten, but the road there is very, very long so he doesn't run away. The sweetness is guaranteed, though. 5. The female lead transmigrates two years before the main story begins. The story touches briefly on the Azure Messenger incident, then goes completely off-script and does its own thing. The timeline will be heavily altered as the plot requires. 6. Daily updates start in February, usually at 6 p.m. Updates at other times are usually revisions, unless something unexpected happens. Sending love. Also sharing the blurb for the next upcoming work below ↓↓↓↓ Dazai Sensei Got Married Young One of the Armed Detective Agency's Seven Wonders: The word "Married" on Dazai's personnel file. When asked about it, he smiled and replied: "Ah, yes. I filed the marriage application the year she turned eighteen. Oh, I'm so glad she said yes." "Mr. Dazai, isn't that fraud...?" - Oda Sakunosuke had thought that after fighting Gide, he was sure to die. But what he hadn't expected was that not only did he survive, the first thing his friend blurted out when he woke up was: "Odasaku, I got married! Where's my wedding present?" Oda Sakunosuke: I might still be asleep. - After learning that the rabbit he'd raised had been stolen by the little rabbit Dazai he'd picked up, Mori Ogai just wanted to curse. But looking at the serene young girl in front of him, he couldn't bring himself to be angry with her. ...Painful grimace. - Everyone in the Port Mafia knew that the organization had three unwritten rules. Few people knew that some members of the Port Mafia secretly followed a fourth, unspoken rule. Never make Miss Rabbit dislike you. - Usaki Kuri, whose nickname was forever tied to rabbits. As the first child Mori Ogai had taken in, she was undoubtedly special. She was special not only because Mori Ogai indulged her in every way, but also because she had a rare healing ability. Her ability, Forest Witch, let her create poisons and antidotes according to how much she liked the person she used it on. True to its name, the ability was capricious: the more she hated someone, the stronger the poison; the more she liked someone, the more powerful the antidote's healing effect. Because Usaki Kuri's ability was so subjective, Mori Ogai had to limit her contact with the outside world and... spoil her until she became an innocent, radiant little princess. After all, everyone wants to stay alive. Except Dazai. The unusual boy perfectly captured Miss Rabbit's attention. 1. Usaki is pronounced similarly to the Japanese word for rabbit, usagi. The character for hare is also part of her name, hence her nickname, Rabbit. 2. The main story starts when Mori Ogai takes Dazai in. I plan to write about childhood sweethearts and a tender young romance at seventeen or eighteen. 3. The female lead is doted on by everyone and is a little ray of sunshine. She will gradually learn to control her ability as she grows up. 4. A heads-up about potential concerns: the female lead was originally meant to be a replacement for Yosano. She and Dazai marry the day after Oda's death in the original story. They both love each other, but Dazai's proposal is indeed calculated. The female lead does not defect. 5.
