[Blurb for my next book, "Mr. Dazai Is Having a Headache Again Today," at the very end ovo]
Congratulations! Jinmuxi got a cat on her first day after transmigrating into a farming game.
Sure, it was soaking wet, just fished out of a river, but the important thing was that she had a cat.
As for starting with a run-down little cabin and a System that knew nothing...
It didn't matter. With a cat around, nothing could go wrong.
But Jinmuxi never imagined that her cat, adorable and clever as it was, would have one fatal flaw.
It was picky about food.
The cat wouldn't eat fish.
It wouldn't eat cat food, either.
Cats aren't supposed to eat crab, but Jinmuxi met those clear, beautiful amber eyes...
And she couldn't resist.
She picked the crab apart, and the cat ate it.
Human food had too much seasoning, so Jinmuxi blanched some for the cat. She only turned away to pour some water...
She turned back, and the cat had stolen a bite.
...Jinmuxi's temper was still perfectly stable today.
Luckily, it was a good cat. When she got angry, it would manage to dig up a little guilt from beneath a mountain of self-righteousness, then act sweet and beg for forgiveness.
As Jinmuxi's bond with the cat grew, she had no idea that...
In the real world, Dazai initially reflected on his behavior every day. But little by little, he gave up and got very good at being a cat, letting his instincts run wild.
He was himself, and the cat was a cat!
What did the cat's actions have to do with him?
Sure, there was a huge difference between the cat's personality and his own, so even if his subordinates came by, they wouldn't recognize him. It was no big deal.
What harm could a little cat possibly have in mind?
His conscience was clear.
...Probably.

Jinmuxi's life revolved around her farm, her mine, and her cat.
Though her cat had a huge appetite for vegetables, loved splashing around in the river to catch crabs, sometimes chewed on poisonous mushrooms, and was always getting into mischief, Jinmuxi had to admit one thing.
With a cat around, life was a lot more fun.
That is, until the day before she'd arranged with Miss Metal Butterfly to take the cat to be spayed...
Her cat vanished, replaced by an amber-eyed young man wrapped head to toe in bandages.
After staring at each other for a few seconds...
"Meow."
At Jinmuxi's baffled expression, the young man gave her a cold look and spoke reluctantly.
Staring at his expressionless face, Jinmuxi appeared calm, but was actually consumed by guilt.
Oh no, it looked like the spaying plan was off...
Tips:
1. The cat in this story has an iron stomach. The game world is fictional, so don't use its feeding practices as a guide in real life.
2. The farming System is similar to Stardew Valley, but not an exact copy. There are some changes.
3. In cat form, Dazai is influenced by the cat and becomes especially lively and mischievous: a healthy, lively boss cat (?). The romance only begins when he becomes human. Later, the game world will merge with the IF world.
4. If a plot point doesn't work for you, please stop reading.
5. Gugu is a fragile little bird who only wants to hear people praise Dazai. Comments that aren't kind to Dazai will get eaten, but praise for him is very welcome!

Hydrangea is a thoroughly ordinary fanfiction writer.
She was before transmigrating, and she still is afterward.
The character she ships hasn't changed. The only thing that's different is...
She transmigrated into the world of her favorite character.
Unlike before, this world has her favorite character, but there's no fan content to enjoy.
A fan who ships characters will starve to death without fan content.
Hydrangea: What else can I do? I can't just starve to death!
So even in a different world, she writes her own fanfiction, suffering and enjoying it at the same time, and fending for herself.
To keep it from being too obvious, Hydrangea halfheartedly uses "Mr. D" to refer to her favorite character. She isn't even trying to hide it.
After all, Yokohama is huge, and it's full of people. She's just a homebody writing fanfiction for fun, and she doesn't have an ability. Surely no one is going to come knocking at her door, right?
...Hydrangea doesn't know that she actually does have an ability.

The legendary Mr. D finds a short story online.
After reading it, he unconsciously looks down at the area below his waist.
No one knows...
No, everyone who read that short story knows that Mr. D is wearing a cute pair of crab-print underwear, and the crabs are even drawn in chibi style.
Thinking of the underwear at home, whose pattern mysteriously changes every so often, Mr. D smiles.
Good. He finally caught you.
Theme: Wherever you are, make sure to live well.
