Western Crossover: Gotham’s Mayor Has a Lot on His Plate

-March 22, 2022, Bai Lan’s Chicken Essence promotional copy- On the day aliens attacked New York, the mayor threw Elizabeth to the wolves, making her the scapegoat. No one believed that a young woman who had risen to deputy mayor on the strength of her family connections could clean up the mess in front of her. But against all expectations, Elizabeth Holland made a name for herself in a single battle, saving New York from the wreckage left in the invasion’s wake. At this point, it seemed that running for president was the only path open to Elizabeth. But fate played a joke on her. Her boss said, “Liz, thank you for everything you’ve done. We’re promoting you. You’re being promoted from deputy mayor of New York to mayor of Gotham. It’s a simple, down-to-earth place. You’ll like it there.” Elizabeth accepted the transfer with a blank expression. Some people were waiting to see Elizabeth make a fool of herself. Kidnappings, attacks, assassination attempts: perhaps she wouldn’t even survive until inauguration day. But on the second day after the new mayor took office, every Gothamite turned on the TV and saw their new mayor slam the Joker’s head down on a table with one punch. Facing the camera, she said, “Why so serious?” A few friendly warnings: 1. The timeline goes off track, the election process differs from real life, the logic is messy, and characters may be out of character. 2. The love interest is Batman. Warning: the age gap is over ten years, and she has a whole bunch of ex-boyfriends who will appear. Neither lead is a virgin, so purity purists beware. 3. The heroine is beautiful, powerful, and tragic, and everyone is drawn to her. The cover is how I imagine her. The image comes from my high school friend. 4. The author is an old hand at writing, and all the works crossed over are old shows and movies. Theme: Raise the banner of equality for all in Gotham and lead its people to prosperity.
