Jumping Back and Forth Between O and A

[A story about an Earthling who transmigrates into an ABO world, keeps picking up other people's pheromones, and gets mistaken for an A or an O]

[A romance-obsessed world, but with a career-driven protagonist.]

1.

Chi Guizhou transmigrated from Earth to another world, but he had no idea what ABO meant.

Due to the effects of certain fluctuations, words related to the ABO setting were blocked and censored from the very beginning.

Chi Guizhou, a genuinely ordinary person who had no clue what kind of world he was in: Things seem pretty similar to everyday life on Earth, but somehow, something feels off?

For example, people here seem to love spraying all kinds of strange perfume. Chi Guizhou also keeps unconsciously picking up other people's perfume scents, sometimes even mixing them together.

Chi Guizhou: I don't get it, but I respect it.jpg

Sometimes, though, people watch him with complicated gazes brimming with inexplicable emotions.

The silent onlookers: I knew it! This guy has to be an Alpha/Beta/Omega!

2.

At the school festival, various organizations aggressively seized their spots. The best venue was steeped in the spicy pheromones of a high-ranking Alpha, leaving everyone hesitant to approach.

As soon as Chi Guizhou came near, all he could smell was a strong scent of pepper spray. He was silent for a second, then offered a friendly compliment: “Mm, pepper spray. That's a very creative way to claim a spot.”

Everyone: “!” To remain so calm and chatty in the face of such overwhelming pheromones, Chi Guizhou really is an incredibly powerful A!

3.

A friend who smelled strongly of floral water suddenly fainted. Chi Guizhou took him to the infirmary, and when he came back, he was covered in a scent of floral water that wouldn't go away.

On the way, he ran into his nemesis, who always seemed to have a one-sided feud with him. The other man pressed closer and cornered him against a wall, his gaze provocative yet strangely suggestive. “You're an O, and you're wandering around outside with such an obvious scent?”

His expression paused for a moment. His nemesis lowered his eyes, his voice husky. “Come here. I'll do you the favor of giving you a temporary mark.”

Chi Guizhou: ...?

Summer's almost here. Want to try some floral water to keep the mosquitoes away? :-D

4.

A: “I know an A who's got incredible self-control. President Su's younger brother was drugged, and the Omega pheromones filled the whole building. He managed to take him safely to the hospital without batting an eye.”

B: “Tsk, tsk. I saw an O beat up that legendary so-and-so. Ahem, I can't stand that arrogant, overbearing Alpha either, but even I can't handle his pheromones. I never expected that Omega to walk right up and punch him, ”

C: “That's nothing. The B I know is the strongest of all. He can face the mental assault of a pheromone frenzy as if nothing's happening, and he's also got all sorts of connections with S-rank Alphas and Omegas.”

Bystander: “Who are you all talking about?”

A: “The person who saved President Su's family during that incident that shook them was Alpha Chi Guizhou.”

B: “Huh? The Omega I saw throwing punches was also called Chi Guizhou.”

C: “Wait, the Beta I know is called Chi Guizhou too.”

A, B, and C: “...”

Bystander: “? Are there really that many people named Chi Guizhou??”

Bystander: “...Don't tell me the Alpha, Omega, and Beta you mentioned are actually all the same person!?”

=

This is an ABO world, but Chi Guizhou is just an ordinary person who wandered in by mistake. Apart from being able to smell pheromones, he feels nothing from them. He randomly picks up different kinds of pheromones and scents, and there's no telling how long they'll last.

So everyone else thinks

I thought you were an A/O/B, but you're not?!

Early on, Chi Guizhou: What's going on?

Later, Chi Guizhou: Thanks for asking. I can't disguise myself, I haven't changed sex, and there are no melodramatic dramas in my life. I'm genuinely just a perfectly normal person.

[Before You Read] ↓

○ A romance-obsessed world, a career-driven protagonist, deadpan jokes and goofy comedy, with a Schrodinger's serious plot. No shipping speculation: the one and only love interest is Nan Xing!

○ Some ABO elements are based on the author's own worldbuilding. The protagonist will always be an Earthling and will never present. He's an Earth bug walking around in an ABO world.

○ The protagonist is serious about his career and is a total career addict. This isn't pure comedy: there's a main plot, serious drama, and a story-driven narrative.

○ The romance is slow-burn, pure and sweet, with the two moving forward together as each other's one and only! They're career partners and comrades-in-arms. The love interest doesn't appear much early on, and the romance mainly develops in the middle and later parts. No secondary couples.

○ None of the characters are perfect, and their initial personalities don't define who they become! They all grow and change as the story progresses. The career-driven protagonist challenges the world's romance-obsessed mindset and inspires others to focus on their careers too!

○ This is actually an inspirational story (?) about an Earthling pursuing his career in a romance-obsessed world and making more and more friends along the way! Everyone has a bright future ahead of them~

== A peek at my upcoming story, Haha, Because This Is a Game ==

Perland Academy welcomed a new transfer student. He was good-looking, but his name was strange. His surname was Bai, and his given name was [Crisp, Juicy Cabbage].

Everyone: ...No, seriously, how can anyone be named that?!

On his first day, the transfer student gave the school bully a rose. On the third day, he ate his way from one end of the cafeteria to the other without stopping. On the ninth day, he uprooted a tree and smashed through a door to rescue a student trapped in the storage room. On the fifteenth day, he skipped class, only for everyone to learn he'd gone to collect 999 cans for their deposit money. On the twenty-eighth day, he somehow pulled out a sword and tactically fought off intruders. On the forty-second day, he shot spiderwebs from his hands and climbed all over the school.

His classmates: ...No, this is getting more and more ridiculous!

On day ×, the transfer student solved a major serial murder case in the city. On day ×, he rescued a wealthy tycoon's son from a burning building on the seventeenth floor. On day ×, he took control of a hijacked plane and landed it safely. On day ×...

His antics were bizarre, but the transfer student did so much and saved so many people. It seemed like there was nothing he couldn't do.

Everyone, gradually getting used to it: If it's him, then whatever happens will be fine.

On day n, ■■■■, the transfer student died.

Everyone: ?

Everyone: ????!

A pixel-art game suddenly appeared on Bai Fuling's phone. Curious, he opened it and picked the name [Crisp, Juicy Cabbage] at random. When he discovered how much freedom the game offered, he became hooked.

With so much freedom, he loved making his little game character do things the unconventional way, just playing however he liked.

Unfortunately, the game had no save files, and time only moved forward. When he wasn't playing, he had to leave it on idle mode.

Eventually, he got bored and randomly chose an event to end his character's life, then happily uninstalled the game.

But sometime after that, Bai Fuling started hearing things. While walking, after showering, or before going to sleep, he kept faintly hearing a weak voice crying in his ear.

“...Bai... Bai... Where are you?”

The world's will, born from the obsessive longing of countless people in that world, finally found its way to the reality where Bai Fuling lived. It seeped into his world like a mass of viscous sludge, like tentacles that could slip through any gap.

It drew itself out of the shadows and conjured a boneless arm, wrapping it around the person lying in bed. Large, frigid tears streamed down its face.

“...Bai... Bai... I missed you... I found you.”

The protagonist thought it was a game, so he went wild, taking the unconventional route and pulling off all kinds of goofy, fantastical stunts. In a way, he became a savior! The love interest is an indescribable world will, born from the collective obsession of everyone in that world. More or less an inhuman entity.
