[A short, sweet story, with the full text available for just 5.9 yuan. Come give it a try~]
Rumor has it that Yun Zhong is a vicious, bottom-tier star with nothing going for him but his looks.
By a stroke of luck, however, he saves the cat belonging to Fang Sui, a fabulously wealthy CEO, and the two become connected. Thus begins a doomed relationship: the CEO longs for him in vain, while the little star takes advantage of being loved to run wild.
Then the genuine, kind-hearted protagonist appears, thoroughly face-slaps the scumbag, and finally finds true love
At least, that’s how the script goes.
But the carefully planned plot goes awry. The CEO, cold on the outside but warm within, devoted to the scumbag at first and indifferent to him later, arrives early at a scene that is supposed to show “the little star getting beaten up while holding a cat,” a completely nonsensical setup that exists solely to highlight his kindness in saving it.
Before Fang Sui can even react to the scene of “holding a cat while taking down eight thugs,” he hears a strange voice.
Yun Zhong: Tsk, why can’t I kill them?
System: …They’re the ones beating you up.
Yun Zhong: ? How could they beat me?
System: …Do you remember your character is a vicious, delicate flower whose face is the only thing worth looking at?
Yun Zhong: What the hell are you talking about? I’m not… Wait, show me my character profile again.
System: …Forget it. Your target is already here.
Then Fang Sui watches as the little star holding his cat slowly turns to look at him.
Yun Zhong, once an expert at playing villainous bosses in the System’s missions, has been reassigned to “the lover’s regret arc,” where he must play a scumbag who is despised by everyone and ultimately longs for love in vain.
In theory, Yun Zhong is good at tormenting people, good at being despised, and even better at longing for what he can’t have.
Everything feels familiar from his past missions, yet he makes a colossal mistake right from the start.
His character seems to have completely fallen apart in front of his target.
Yun Zhong takes a deep breath and reassures his System: Don’t panic. I have a plan.
He falls back on the usual approach he used to take as a villainous boss. “Did you see all that?”
System: Maybe you should just quit.
Yun Zhong: Shut up.
A seemingly cool and composed, secretly anxious top X a gorgeous bottom who doesn’t realize his cover’s blown and keeps flirting anyway

I can't do it any more. Mother Mao has no reputation and no status, and she's even being harassed at her door.
Mao Mao looks gentle and cute, but she is actually a businessman who lacks great virtues.
