Blurb (plain-language version)
As a game master, Gu Zhousheng has three great hobbies: watching the players struggle, listening to them scream, and controlling the boss's dice rolls so it gets a critical success and wipes out the whole party.
A friend suggests, "Since you love tormenting people so much, you should run an emotional role-playing game."
After reading the scenario, Gu Zhou gladly throws away his Intelligence and begins a career running games where emotional pain hurts more than physical pain.
Until one day, the resentment of the players he had tormented sends him into the game world.
System: "We cordially invite you to play a key NPC and interact closely with the investigators, loving and fighting each other. Complete the series of missions to receive a surprise reward!"
Gu Zhou: Since I can't escape, I might as well enjoy it.
A key NPC should follow three principles:
First, good looks are justice: make the investigators fall for you at first sight.
Second, max out Agility: when the time comes, run.
Third, there's no room left for points in Constitution. I'm going to die sooner or later anyway, so I'll just make do.
Gu Zhou gets everything ready, prepared to deceive the hearts of the investigators taking part in the game, but...
One investigator: "This NPC is way too good-looking. I suspect a trick. How about we kill him first?"
Another investigator: "This NPC has no useful intel. Let's bring him along as a punching bag for the combat round."
Yet another investigator: "Why does he only speak in riddles? What does he mean? Can we intimidate him into speaking like a normal person?"
Gu Zhou: ...I walked onto the wrong set. I'm out.
Why are these investigators the hardcore, solve-the-case-and-kill-everything kind?!
Later on.
An investigator locks Gu Zhou in a dark room the moment they meet. "Sorry, everything here is too dangerous for you."
Gu Zhou kicks the door open, dons a yellow robe and an ivory-white mask, and makes a grand entrance in the boss fight.
Thanks to his incredible luck with the dice, he defeats his opponent. Just as the other person prepares to risk everything, he slowly removes his mask, revealing a captivating face with a smile.
"Did you miss me?"
Blurb (gamer slang version, first draft)
As an experienced Call of Cthulhu Keeper, Gu Zhou most loves watching the players struggle in his games, desperate to survive and finding it nearly impossible.
A friend tells him, "Since you love hearing people scream, you should run COJ games."
After happily reading four of the most emotionally devastating modules, Gu Zhou cackles, throws away his Intelligence, and starts a campaign of mercilessly tormenting players.
Under the resentment of a whole group of players, Gu Zhou transmigrates into the world of Call of Cthulhu role-playing games.
System: "Since you have extensive experience playing a COJ cat, and have received unanimous praise and agonized resentment from countless players, we specially invite you to play a COJ cat! Complete the series of missions to receive a huge reward!"
Gu Zhou: I can't escape, so I might as well enjoy it.
COJ cat rule number one: You need a high APP.
Gu Zhou: Let's put 90 points into APP first.
COJ cat rule number two: You need to show up in all kinds of strange places and do all kinds of outrageous things when people least expect it.
Gu Zhou: Let's put 80 into DEX.
COJ cat rule number three: After doing a whole series of outrageous things, you need to die spectacularly.
Gu Zhou: I'll put a token 30 points into Constitution. I'll be left with barely a breath.
System: "Transporting you now. We're sure you'll give the investigators the ultimate experience!"
Gu Zhou after entering: ...Wait, this is a proper module!!!
In short: a COJ cat wanders into a classic mystery scenario.
In plain terms: a pretty, doomed character who dies young wanders into a passionate (no, wait) horror and splatter film.
Also known as: The COJ Cat's Survival Guide
Intuitive, protective male lead x knightly, fun-loving bottom
Please note that this story contains:
1. Sir, you're going to take quite a lot of electric shocks.
2. A memoir of a dead wife.
3. What do you mean, it has a health bar, so it's a monster?
4. Sorry, I don't date married people.
Reading guide:
1. The story features fake deaths, and the endings of the scenarios tend to be tragic. The male lead is either already a gloomy, possessive man from the start or quickly becomes one. The protagonist is not wholly on the side of the eldritch gods.
2. It contains Call of Cthulhu role-playing and some Cultist Simulator elements, as well as original monsters. The descriptions may be bizarre and uncanny, so please stop reading if you feel uncomfortable.
3. Some scenarios have branching endings, but these won't be written out in detail. They'll only be briefly mentioned in the author's notes after the game ends. (I just like coming up with names for different endings, sorry.)
4. I'll do my best with every campaign, so updates may be irregular. (Bows. Sorry!)
5. CoC refers to Call of Cthulhu role-playing games. COJ refers to a spin-off of CoC with more emotional interactions and sometimes baffling logic. A COJ cat is a character built into a module who has many emotional connections to other characters and may sometimes be sacrificed to advance the plot. A module is something like a script. The Keeper is the game master, and players are called PLs. APP means Charisma, a combined score for looks and presence: the higher it is, the easier it is to win people's favor. DEX means Dexterity: the higher it is, the faster you are. Constitution is combined with Size; the higher it is, the more health you have and the harder it is to die. Proper modules, or classic mystery scenarios, focus on solving cases and fighting monsters.
6. There won't be much gamer slang in the story, and anything that does appear will be explained in the text, so you can read it without any prior knowledge!
7. No breaking up or reversing the KK ship. Thanks for understanding.
Theme: Work hard toward success. Never give up or leave anyone behind.
I laughed so hard... A big failure at the beginning helps warn the pl not to roll casually if nothing happens.
A self-sacrificing cat, right? KP has adapted to the Romans so quickly and has very strong business abilities!
Brother Lu, good luck! I want to report the kp for Brother Lu's pretext for finding a wife (hey), but the dead wife will look like the one I've had before... She's going to be traumatized.
The san was falling loudly, and I was almost unsure. I feel happy when I see great luck. Jpg
I feel like my teammates are generally a bit of evil investigators.
I feel like I saw that meme, the one where I rushed to touch the cat but was stopped by my friends hhhhh I feel like Xiao Lu and his teammates are the ones, and his teammates actually fell in love with the coj cat! And this luck of the dice is really a good start. The investigator's extraordinary life has begun.
You can't help but laugh wildly when you see people calling angels to cats, then you are really in luck
Although, the Buddha here is not interested in worshiping... 🐶
A reputation of 60 is so rich! Except for the fixed value of the module, my reputation has never been above 15 in my life...
A reputation of 60 is too rich 😚 Experience the limited time Rich Man
