At a friend's recommendation, Qianye got hooked on the VR version of Touken Ranbu. Compared to the original, this version let players not only take on the role of a Saniwa, but also play as a Touken Danshi and head into battle, adding plenty of exciting, high-stakes combat. And so, a player who cared only about fighting and having fun, never bothered to watch his health bar, knew nothing about the characters, and was constantly acting out of character, met swords and Saniwa who were highly alert to all these strange occurrences. When Qianye went out on a mission alone despite being seriously wounded, a group of people stopped him and demanded to know his Honmaru number. When Qianye used a store-bought mod to radically alter a character's appearance, people concluded that the sword had undergone an evil blade-modification procedure. When Qianye mistook people for someone else and got their names wrong over and over, they imagined some melodramatic accident that had never happened. Some time later, when a friend asked Qianye how he was enjoying the game Qianye: It's pretty good. There's just way too much story, and it always triggers automatically. You can't even avoid it. Friend: There's a lot of story? Qianye: But some of the dungeon adventures are really fun! Like solving puzzles in the Honmaru and clearing stages in the Government of the Time's headquarters. Friend: Dungeon adventures?? Qianye: The starter character is so weak, though. Why can't I level up this character called a Saniwa?
