My next book will be "Outstanding Graduate of the Heartless Path." The blurb is below this one.
The cover isn't a template. It has no text so the author can admire it.
Saving up for tuition, please support the official release.
Inline comments are open, come join the fun! It goes from an audition show to a boy group.
Yan Sheng, a third-year Chinese literature student, was currently struggling to find an internship. For a non-STEM college student, finding a job was harder than reaching the heavens.
Yan Sheng: "I should've gone into dance back then. Why did I insist on pursuing the literary ideal?"
After a disastrous interview for a choreographer position, the head of rookie development at Chenxing Entertainment said earnestly, "How about trying out as a trainee?"
Yan Sheng thought about it. Making a living off her looks wasn't shameful: "As long as she gives me an internship certificate, I'm in."
In the team practice room for "Are You Star," Yan Sheng tried to hold back, then decided to protect her temper.
"Your moves are uncoordinated, and so is your brain?"
"Touch your crotch again and I'll make sure you never need to worry about it again."
"If you want to battle, meet me in the practice room at eleven tonight. I'll make sure you get your fill of dancing."
A storm of rigorous training forged the strongest and most talented idols. Yan Sheng nodded confidently. "That's right. They should all be thanking me."
[Don't ask. Just listen to Teacher Yan Sheng.]
One day, an interviewer asked about the thing Yan Sheng had written for her debut variety show.
"It's actually a little personal hobby. Maybe you've heard of a writer who goes by 'Zao Hou'?"
The host froze, then asked tentatively, "Isn't that the shipper who writes audition-show pairings?"
Yan Sheng smiled. "That's right. I created all the CP supertopics back then, and I've published ten books so far!"
The comments went silent for a moment, as if they'd frozen.
[Do your teammates know you've already written thirty thousand words of tragic romance about them?!]
"The moment I saw him, I knew he was destined for greatness."
Reading Guide:
1. The protagonist is easygoing and straightforward, with nerves of steel and skin thicker than a city wall. She's a dependable adult idol with both good character and a very human feel.
2. No CP. Everyone is just friends. The protagonist won't deliberately play up same-sex intimacy, but she will write fanfiction about her teammates. They're all crack ships, so don't take them seriously. Inevitably, there will be CP-shipping scenes after the group debuts. Feel free to skip chapters based on the titles.
3. The author is a protagonist fan. Even with an ensemble cast, the story still centers on the protagonist. No side-character worship, so feel free to dive in.
4. There are no real-life models. Don't read real people into the characters. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. Some elements borrow from Korean entertainment, so you can imagine a blend of the Chinese and Korean entertainment industries. Everything else is made up by the author. You don't need to know the industry to enjoy the story.
5. Every aspect of the characterization and plot has a reason. Please don't tell me how to write.
6. There are lots of comments and forum posts. That's part of my narrative style, and I can't cut them out. I'll mark them in the chapter titles, so subscribe as you like.
7. For narrative reasons, the teammates find out about her identity in the main story, while people outside the group find out in the bonus chapters. Please choose carefully when subscribing.
8. You don't have to tell me if you're dropping the story. Don't force yourself to keep reading.
Here's a little preview of another upcoming book. Take a look if you're interested.
"Outstanding Graduate of the Heartless Path"
After three hundred years of seclusion, Li Lingsheng was just one step away from ascending.
Then a cultivation System fell from the sky.
"What are you supposed to be?"
The System said nothing and simply kept issuing missions.
[Rejected Engagement: Li Lingsheng, whose spiritual roots have been ruined, has been rejected by his childhood sweetheart. Make the Qingling Wang family pay within a month.]
Li Lingsheng: "I'm not doing a broken-engagement story."
[Cast-Out Disciple: After being framed and expelled by his sect, Li Lingsheng feels humiliated. Make the ungrateful sect pay within three months.]
Li Lingsheng: "I'm not doing a comeback story."
[Supreme Demon: Now a Demon Lord, Li Lingsheng has taken a disciple at Cangwu Academy. Train him to become your right-hand man within a year.]
Li Lingsheng: "I'm not doing a master-disciple story."
System: You can't ascend without him.
Li Lingsheng: "Are you threatening me?"
System: I'm not lying. Your Heartless Path requires you to take a disciple before you can ascend.
Li Lingsheng: "Ridiculous. Why would I be like those useless people who get tangled up in romance?"
"A sword cultivator of the Heartless Path needs to do only two things." Li Lingsheng crossed his legs and lectured a group of talented young men. "Beat your opponents until they're running for the hills, and maintain your immortal bearing."
Below him, a cute young boy with bright, puppy-like eyes eagerly played along. "Master is right!"
Li Lingsheng nodded in satisfaction. "In short, if you can't learn from me, you can learn from the top-ranked contestant in this year's tournament: my disciple."
Little skit:
A friend rubbed his hands together. "For this secret realm, my master gave me several talismans that can block a full-power strike from a Deity Transformation cultivator. Merchant Zhi, your master treasures you so much. He must've given you a ton of good stuff, right?"
Shang Zhi rummaged through his Cosmos Bag and pulled out a stack of talismans, a pile of divine artifacts, a basket of spirit herbs...
Friend: "Does your master think you're at the Qi Refining or Nascent Soul stage?"
Shang Zhi activated the surveillance formation and cheerfully waved at his master, who was calmly sipping tea on the screen. Li Lingsheng nodded, praised his disciple for being obedient and sensible, and stressed that he must keep the formation running the whole time.
Friend: "Shang Zhi, don't you think your master is invading your privacy a little?"
Shang Zhi's expression changed. "Nonsense! This is obviously my master's way of caring about me!"
Cat 1, dog 0. A sharp-tongued cat versus a comfort dog. A control freak versus an emotional rock. The most arrogant under heaven versus the world's most enthusiastic cheerleader.
The master isn't aloof, just sharp-tongued. But the disciple really is the cutest puppy.
Extremely devoted fans, please don't read. No self-insert, no breaking them up, no role reversal.
The author is a die-hard CP fan who writes mutual pampering, romance, and shipping.
In short, an invincible, lighthearted romantic comedy about the perfect match for every pot.
Li Lingsheng: "Who are you calling a cat? I'm a person!"
Shang Zhi: "But Master said I'm a dragon!"
Premise: Seize every opportunity
