[Feng Shui + sacred geomantic sites + geomantic arts + Feng Shui masters + Feng Shui taboos and how to overcome them + metaphysics, mystical arts, fortune-telling, divination, geomancy, changing your fate and fortune + no transmigration, no livestreaming, no female lead] During the Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, the imperial tombs at Tianshou Mountain were nearing completion, and Emperor Jiajing issued an edict calling for the realm’s finest geomancy masters. Liao Wenzheng, a Feng Shui heir from Sanliao Village in Xingguo, Jiangxi, was summoned to the capital. He won first place in the geomancy imperial examination’s “Palace Trial,” presided over by Minister of Rites Xia Yan. Emperor Jiajing personally named him the “Feng Shui Champion” and appointed him a Doctor of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, making him the royal geomancy master. He accurately assessed the Feng Shui of the Thirteen Tombs, selected an auspicious site for Emperor Jiajing’s Yongling Mausoleum, and controlled the flooding of the Yellow River, earning the emperor’s favor. Yet imperial power was unfathomable, and political machinations and family obligations lurked behind the mysteries of Feng Shui. Liao Wenzheng navigated the worlds of emperors, powerful ministers, and his own family, using geomancy to site tombs and tame rivers, while facing one trial after another in the whirlpool of power. Based on history and blending secret Feng Shui arts, palace intrigue, and family legend, this novel portrays the extraordinary life of a Feng Shui champion and the hidden corners of the Ming dynasty.
