Feng Shui Master Futu Hong

Futu Hong (circa 650–720), whose secular surname is unknown, was from Huangzhou, present-day Huanggang in Hubei. A national preceptor during the reigns of Emperor Zhongzong and Emperor Ruizong of the Tang dynasty, he was famed for his mastery of geomancy and prophecy. Accounts of his life appear in official histories and anecdotal collections, including the Old Book of Tang, the New Book of Tang, Extensive Records of the Taiping Era, and Biographies of Eminent Monks of the Song. Together, they shaped his distinctive image as a “monk-like occultist.”
