A Timely Rain for the Heart

As a little girl, Ayuan cried so often that people teased her for being a "crybaby." She swallowed her tears and clenched her teeth whenever she felt wronged. The clouds in her eyes grew thicker and thicker, pressing down on her until she could barely breathe. One rainy night, she hid in a corner and finally burst into tears. Her tears mingled with the rain and flowed without restraint. When she finished crying, she looked up and saw that the sky had cleared. From then on, she understood: tears aren't weakness. When the rain in your heart needs to fall, let it fall. Once it has passed, the sky will brighten. Years later, she tells a crying child, "Go ahead and cry. Your tears will wash the clouds away."
