Pine Cone Food Diary

Mr. Owl, who lived alone deep in the forest, wanted nothing more than to read in peace. But the neighbor's children were always making a racket, much to his frustration. He wrote to Squirrel, the owner of the Forest Bookshop, for help. He had hoped to find a "moving guide" so he could get away, but Squirrel sent him books like The Complete Guide to Forest Cooking and Baking, encouraging him to find a different way to get along with the children. Over the course of nine "slow-paced" exchanges of letters, Owl gradually opened his heart, grew fond of the children, and decided to visit in person the Forest Bookshop he had only encountered through letters. A correspondence, a bookshop: together, they helped a lonely soul find a connection to the world.
