Little Parker from Akita

At a train station, Professor Parker came across a lost Akita puppy and named him Hachiko. Every morning, Hachiko walked Parker to the station, and at exactly five in the evening, he sat by the flower bed on the platform to welcome his owner home. One day, an accident kept Parker from ever returning to the station. But Hachiko could not understand death. Day after day, come rain or shine, he continued waiting at the station for the figure who would never appear. Spring turned to autumn, and nine full years passed. Until the very last moment of his life, Hachiko never left the place where they had made their promise.
