Western Crossover: I Told You I Came to Join You

You were born. Your spawn point is a Gotham sewer. Bad news: You have amnesia, no legal identity, and you’re in Gotham. You’ve just been hauled out of Gotham Bay along with a wrecked Batmobile. Good news: You seem pretty tough. Whoever hits you ends up with a broken bone. Good news: You’re broke, but apparently you can survive on photosynthesis. Bad news: It’s been raining in Gotham for three straight months, and even the towels are growing mold. In the middle of all this, you find a young man in a Gotham alley. He’s ragged and on the brink of death, his eyes empty of light. He looks like an expensive ragdoll cat abandoned by its owner, completely incapable of surviving on the streets. You decide: 1. Leave him here. 2. Take him home and look after him. Could any protagonist really choose anything but option 2? You patch up his battered body and treat his damaged eyes. You’re sure he must be your soulmate… and, before you know it, he’s smoothly charmed you, just like all his exes. No surprises there. More than half a year later. Your cat tells you he wants to break up and say goodbye. He looks at you apologetically, his blue eyes full of guilt. You finally understand: this cat already has an owner, and you were just a passing guest in his life. You decide to go back to being a proper foster parent. Until, in the middle of a farewell hug, the cat accidentally knocks off your glasses. Cat: …Are you messing with me? Cat: …Weren’t you given a state funeral? Cat: …What the hell do you mean, your name is Luthor?! ** Dick Grayson was on the verge of death when an older man found him and took him home. The man was considerate and friendly, gentle and kind, broad-shouldered and long-legged, with a physique that made him look like a literal marble statue. His only flaw was that he sometimes triggered Dick’s daddy issues. Mature people give their childhood selves the care they needed once they reach adulthood. Dick’s older boyfriend was healing almost every wound he’d ever suffered. Friends, it’s really hard not to fall for someone like that. Until one day, the city he would give anything for needed him again. He looked at his boyfriend guiltily, thinking that afterward he could look out for him under another identity… right up until he took off his glasses during their farewell hug. That face was all too familiar. Black hair, blue eyes, handsome and dignified. While he was still alive, this man had been the embodiment of hope. The God of Man is watching you. Dick: … Uncle, why is it you?! What do you do when you accidentally start dating your dad’s coworker? Couple: SuperDick Next novel, available for advance follows: Diving Into the Industry, but as a Virtual Idol The era of the Great Crusade. Wang Wen had the misfortune of studying the humanities. She graduated straight into unemployment, was dirt poor, and had nothing but a pretty face. She was agonizing over whether to sell her organs or sell herself. When she spent her last coin, she awakened a diving-into-the-industry System. Wang Wen: … Damn it, Heaven, you didn’t have to be so considerate. Good news: She was now a chosen one with a System. Bad news 1: It was the year 8426 of the interstellar crusade era. The ban on sex, just like the ban on alcohol, was now an inviolable law. Anyone who broke it was exiled to a dead star. Bad news 2: The System ran on her life span. It would stop loading only after she completed every achievement. Bad news 3: She was a commoner and would never get into the upper star systems. But the only place her face could earn money was the upper star systems. Wang Wen: … System: … System: Are you selling or not? Wang Wen: Of course I am. What else can I do? System: How are you going to sell? Stand by the road? Wang Wen: ??? Selling one person is illegal. Selling to the whole world is making dreams come true. Wang Wen: Maybe you’ve heard of something called a virtual idol? Theme: Don’t prop up a hopeless mess, don’t flip a dead fish, and don’t scald a dead pig.
