The Bat-Shaped Shinigami

[Dropping to half price from Chapter 19]

How to make a Reaper: Take a lemon, some rosemary, the soul and bones of a human who should have shone brightly, then add a sense of duty, rules, loyalty... and resentment toward fate. Simmer in a large pot for thirty minutes, then serve.

Fate took a liking to the soul and bones of young Bruce, who should have died early in the Flashpoint universe. His death took a different form, turning him into a solitary Reaper.

He knew nothing of the past, only the present. Reapers were born to be Reapers: loyal, meticulous, and devoted to their work. Then the Reaper, sitting alone in his office, received a notice that the world was ending, and his career came to an abrupt end.

Then time turned back, and everything began anew. He returned to a time before the destruction of everything.

This time, he said goodbye to the office from the start and began walking among the living, through the place that had been his home when he was alive. Reapers weren't born Reapers.

Welcome home, young Bruce.

Theme: Cherish life and live it well.
