Breaking the East Wind

Yu Polu is Dongchen's sharpest blade, a young general renowned across the Four Kingdoms, a cold-blooded killer who strikes fear into people's hearts. He should be just like his name: sharp and cold, storming the royal court of Loufan. Until an accidental injury leaves him waking up every night as a cat with soft, snow-white fur. The eldest prince of Loufan was born with white hair and mismatched eyes. He wheezes after one step, coughs after two, and throws up blood more often than he eats. The sickly eldest prince has no interest in fighting for power or waging war. His favorite thing to do every day is feed fish to his beloved pet. Yu Polu opens his eyes and finds himself being gently held in the arms of a beautiful man with white hair and mismatched eyes. The cat's fur immediately stands on end. "A-Yu, A-Yu." The beauty rubs his belly, white hair falling across his forehead, and asks with a smile, "Did Dongchen fall today?" Yu Polu is burning with rage and claws the beauty's fair neck. Tears well in the beauty's mismatched eyes. He kisses Yu Polu on the nose. "Why are you so fierce? Be good." Yu Polu freezes, his whole cat body so hot that steam seems to rise from him.
