Western Crossover: The Gentleman Hero Is in Gotham!

My new Western Crossover novel, *Can a Shrike Be a Batkid?*, is now out. Bonus chapters are being added whenever inspiration strikes. Please read the guide before deciding whether to give it a try. Cover art thanks to @Qiu Jue. * Jing Chunhua, a Chinese language and literature student, unfortunately died suddenly during finals week! When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in Gotham... taking an exam at Gotham University. Wait, what? Why does Gotham University offer Chinese language and literature? And why do I still have to take exams after transmigrating?! Oh, she had a golden finger. A Gentleman System had appeared in her mind. All she had to do was fight and reform every criminal, and she'd be able to go home! Jing Chunhua: ? Me? Fight criminals? For real? With my eloquence, or should I go recite a passage from *Duke Zheng's Stratagem Against His Younger Brother* to a bunch of lunatics? In any case, Jing Chunhua desperately tried to become a vigilante, but the System kept going off and assigning her missions. [Ding! How can a true gentleman not master the Six Arts of the Gentleman?] [Ding! A true gentleman ought to have students of his own.] [Ding!] Jing Chunhua looked at her mission list and nearly blacked out again. From then on, every week was finals week. She was losing it. Seriously. In the end, driven to it by the System, Jing Chunhua went out fighting as the Gentleman Hero (she was serious)! * A new vigilante had appeared in Gotham. She yelled about classical Chinese phrases before beating criminals to a pulp, and the second time you ran into her, she'd even quiz you on your homework... She was a lunatic among lunatics. Shouldn't she be the one locked up in Arkham? Batman, are you going to do something?! Jing Chunhua: Shut up, you villains! If you don't follow proper etiquette, I'll punch you twice! Looks like she's mastered the essence of being a land of etiquette! * Tim fell in love with his classmate, but she seemed completely oblivious to his feelings. Com-plete-ly ob-liv-i-ous. Are Eastern girls really this subtle? He tried to hold her hand, but she started fixing her hair. He invited her to a lecture, and she thought he was challenging her... Little Red Bird struggled to make progress. Just when things were finally looking promising, Jing Chunhua said: “You really are my kindred spirit, Tim. A gentleman's friendship is as pure as water!” Tim: ? Is it possible that I'm trying to ask you out? * Couples in love should be all over each other! Jing Chunhua finally figured it out, albeit a little late! She went straight for it, leaving Little Red Bird dizzy. And then she received A doll with a camera. A subcutaneous listening device. Is this what Batfamily possessiveness looks like?! But one day, when Tim finally understood the importance of respecting privacy, Jing Chunhua looked at him gravely. “You're not keeping it anymore?” Reader's guide: 1. Everyone's welcome to have their own favorite. Every character is partly my own interpretation. Apologies for any OOC. Don't insult the characters, but you can insult me. Everyone gets to speak their mind. 2. Around 200,000 Chinese characters. Expect blonde jokes and dark humor. 3. Mainly about the Batfamily. 4. Lots of East Asian trauma content. The heroine has mental health issues and an artsy streak. A Chinese-American production (in huge, bold letters), with plenty of Chinese elements and classical Chinese. Please be aware before reading. Thank you! My next novel will be *Can a Shrike Be a Batkid?* [Western Crossover]. Check out my profile for the link. Blurb: Lanius is a brown shrike. No worries if you don't know what that is. Just know that it's a small bird that eats other birds, and hangs its dead prey from tree branches. Oh, and Lanius likes apple branches. Unfortunately, even after she turned into a human, she kept those habits. Barbecue, hooray! Batman isn't a bat. No worries if you don't know who he is. Just know that he's a meanie who tries to stop Lanius from making skewers. No matter how chaotic things got, the Wayne family ended up with another child. “You mustn't eat your own kind, much less turn them into skewers.” Faced with her warmhearted dad's lecture, Lanius nodded sweetly, then, turned around and skewered the Joker. After all, the Joker isn't a bird. Hehe. * Lanius always thought her big brother was a gorgeous bird of paradise. They even had the same plumage! But, but, how could a shrike fall in love with a bird of paradise? They weren't even in the same family! Wouldn't there be reproductive incompatibility?! The little shrike thought it over and decided she didn't want children anyway. The little shrike kept waiting for the male bird to court her, but he did nothing. Well, there was no other choice! She'd have to court him herself! Lanius thought back to how male birds acted and began a busy career of making skewers. She wiped off her sweat, convinced she was a fine, noble bird! Her big brother looked at the villains skewered all over the place and nearly let out a scream. * Dick couldn't understand it. He couldn't figure out how things had come to this. His little sister had been acting weird during patrol. The moment he looked away, she started making skewers, and then suddenly she was practicing her dancing... He thought he ought to check on her. Lanius blinked at him and said, “Are you finally willing to mate with me?” Dick: !? A sweet, innocent little shrike girl, for when your tastes go wild. No one suffers any irreversible harm! Comedic characters are invincible (probably). An everyday story about falling in love. Pairing: Big Blue Bird Please check out my friend's novel! *[Western Crossover] Don't Beat Up Your Date* A literature major protagonist makes a dramatic entrance! If a problem can be solved with fists, literature doesn't need to get involved. She and Jason fall for each other's looks and bicker back and forth. She's a straightforward puppy-girl! The world needs more puppy-girls [glasses emoji]. She's clever and adorable, a cute little sweet treat. Come have a taste if you're interested. [kiss] Theme: Make Gotham a land of etiquette!
