Cha Yue Types: Waiting for a Contract Offer

Su Qingci, pen name Cha Yue Meng Su, sat at her desk late at night, typing out line after line.

She loved weaving stories, but she also had a simple, burning wish: to receive a contract offer from Yuewen and earn writing fees of her own.

She thought beautiful prose would open the door to a contract. The reality was repeated submissions and rejection after rejection, as she was torn between writing the stories she loved and writing web novels that were easier to monetize.

The anxiety of waiting for a contract offer, the frustration of abandoning a book, the bewildered looks of people around her, and the newcomers in her circle who came and went... The web-novel industry was ruthless. Getting a contract was never the end of a beautiful dream of writing, but merely an entry ticket.

Again and again, she stopped to review her work. Again and again, she picked up her pen.

Only when the long-awaited contract offer popped up in the Writer's Assistant app did she understand: passion and a little pocket money didn't have to be an either-or choice.

The keyboard kept clacking. The long road of writing for Cha Yue Meng Su had only just begun.
