World rules: Anything can become a vessel, but a complete vessel is lifeless. Only broken things can become sentient. Core magical artifact system: Shard artifacts are not damaged junk. They are living things that carry their owner's obsessions, memories, and regrets. They can cry, get hungry, get jealous, recognize their master, and turn on them. The heroine's golden finger: As a spirit-seamstress, she can stitch the spirit, memories, and power of broken objects back together, allowing shard artifacts to evolve into divine treasures. Against the usual tropes: While others cultivate people, the heroine cultivates artifacts. While others fight over treasures, she scavenges junk. While others slay demons for their cores, she gathers shard artifacts and guides their spirits.
