That year, layoffs at state-owned enterprises in Qian County begin, and restrictions on private businesses ease. Struggling to get by with his girlfriend, Wang Jianguo decides to win over diners' taste buds with street food! Chrysanthemum-shaped Qianzhou guokui flatbread, sour soup noodles, crispy chafusu, tofu pudding, spicy bean paste, Xifu beef and lamb paomo, hot pepper soup, lamb soup, roujiamo with cured meat, oil-splashed noodles... Griddled, fried, steamed, boiled, stewed, poached, roasted, braised, simmered, pickled... Sanqin street food offers a thousand flavors! And so, a young chef who started out selling street food emerges in the land of Sanqin. Some say his guokui flatbread is never enough to meet demand. Others travel thousands of miles just to taste authentic Qianzhou tofu pudding, while still others take hundreds of boxes of spicy bean paste with them when they leave... Wang Jianguo has just one thing to say: “The street stall is only the beginning. I'm going to take Sanqin street food beyond the province, across the country, and out to the world...”
