Personal Reading List | A Storehouse of Plot-Driven Reads
I prefer stories focused on careers. The most important thing is an interesting plot, followed by a well-rounded one. Good writing means telling a good story, not piling on fancy words. Multiple heroines or romantic ambiguity are major drawbacks for me, though that doesn't mean the list has none.
Repurpose Monsters, Cook Ghosts and Demons, Raise Insects and Refine Gu
Ghost soldiers and underworld enforcers, building infrastructure in the netherworld, corpse-chasing along the Yellow Springs, making ghost-item cards, cultivating with soul banners, necromancers... I love stories where threats to mortals and the corpses or souls of enemies are put to use. There's a satisfying joy in recycling what's otherwise useless. Building the Yellow Springs and the underworld is another kind of fun infrastructure project.

An Old Bookworm's Reading List
I only recommend books I've read. I prefer DND, historical, and urban fiction. 1. I have high standards for the author's writing. 2. I expect the settings and basic facts in a story to make sense. 3. I have fairly high standards for the plot. 4. I absolutely can't stand idiotic characters. Overall, my recommendations focus on four aspects: writing, characters, plot, and setting, followed by an overall recommendation. Sometimes I like a book because of its author, not the work itself.

I think this is one of the best books I have read at Qidian. The story advances smoothly, the writing is elegant and not kitsch, the overall style is truly quiet and elegant yet refreshing, and the self-consistent logic makes people extremely comfortable. Slow and irregular updates are taboos for online articles. It is difficult to get ahead if you don't write about the mainstream without knowing the name of the person. The overcrowding of debuffs is the reason for the temporary poor data of the entire book. But these shortcomings cannot be used to evaluate the true value of a book. Aesthetic value and artistic enjoyment cannot be defined by traffic data. The author writes what he likes and attracts people who like it. This is the first time I've written a serious book review on Qidian. When I read the author's last work, "Notes on Alchemy," I didn't think it was very good. I felt it was just a slightly better work in Western fantasy (it's actually quite good). But this book "The Demon Painter" gives people a completely different feeling. From what I have read so far, the story and writing are both excellent. Compared with other books I have been reading recently (🈚malicious), such as "Spiritual Walker", the world and life details appear more sophisticated; and from the perspective of the world view currently unfolding, it may not be as grand as "The Lord of Mysteries", but it is not inferior.
