I Added the Wrong Friend, and Now I Keep My Rival's Streak Going Every Day

Xie Queqi is a renowned figure at A University: exceptionally talented, young and accomplished, decisive, and utterly impartial. Strangers don't dare get chummy with him. Even dogs have to greet him respectfully before walking away. He looks cold and serious, but in private he's a chatterbox who loves sharing things. Every day, he sends all kinds of short videos to his friends on Douyin. His Snapchat streaks have been going on for years. . Xie Queqi made a second account to add a friend and accidentally added his nemesis. They'd spent the day hurling insults at each other, but that night... Xie Queqi: [Shared a video] Xie Queqi: Piglet, look at this. It killed me. Hahahahaha. Nemesis: ??? . His nemesis didn't respond, but Xie Queqi still sent him messages and videos every day without fail. Some of the videos were worth opening... and actually pretty funny. Xie Queqi shared amusing things and looked up tasty food and fun places to send him, suggesting they go together. Gradually, his nemesis began sharing things with him too, and started replying to his messages. Their streak was back on. Xie Queqi: Look how funny this is. Nemesis: Mm. Xie Queqi: Try replying with just “mm” one more time. [Gun pointed at forehead] Xie Queqi: I'll stick an umbrella up your ass and open it. The next day in class, under a clear blue sky, Xie Queqi really did bring an umbrella. Nemesis: ... . Lately, Xie Queqi felt like his nemesis had been looking at him strangely. It was a pretty disgusting look. At a get-together, Xie Queqi was drinking with someone. After several rounds, he saw midnight approaching and hurriedly pulled out his phone to keep their streak alive. He realized his friend hadn't messaged him all day. As the streak was about to end, Xie Queqi bombarded him with messages: Get up! Keep the streak alive! Beside him, his nemesis tapped away at a phone that had been turned off for ages. Xie Queqi mocked him: “You're so drunk, your phone's off and you're still using it.” Nemesis: “I need to keep a streak alive.” Xie Queqi hadn't expected his nemesis to share his hobby. Generously, he lent him his phone so he could log in to his account. He watched as his nemesis logged into a familiar account and opened their chat to keep their streak alive. Xie Queqi: ... His nemesis leaned closer. “Why don't you call me Piglet anymore?” Xie Queqi: “I'll invest in a Mars colonization project overnight and escape Earth.” Updates every night at nine. Two good things happened to him over the past year, and now he walks around the village with his chin held high. First, the family cow gave birth to twins. Second, his younger brother, Zhao Sheng, got into a prestigious university's graduate program. Every day, Zhao Buxi waves around a photocopy of his brother's acceptance letter and boasts to everyone, “Look! Welcome to the brilliant Zhao Sheng's enrollment.” The villagers look at the line he's pointing to. “That says, ‘Scan the QR code for more details.’ You illiterate fool.” The villagers look down on him for showing off to everyone. “You'd think he'd gotten in himself, the way he acts. He can't even recognize a single character.” Zhao Buxi just thinks they're jealous that the Zhao family has a graduate student. Every day, Zhao Buxi is overjoyed, eating and sleeping while gazing at his younger brother's acceptance letter. Then several scandals rock the academic world, with one of the worst involving a graduate student who was bullied by his advisor because his parents hadn't given the advisor a gift. Zhao Buxi feels like the sky has fallen. If you don't give gifts, you get bullied! He can't eat or sleep, and heads into the city overnight with a bundle on his back to deliver a gift. At first, Fang Peizhi can't stand anything about Zhao Buxi: an uneducated country bumpkin who eats too loudly and has no manners. But the longer he gets to know him, the more appealing he finds him. So beautiful~ So gorgeous~ He gets right to my heart~ . Zhao Sheng got into a prestigious university's graduate program. He fought his way into the program under this advisor not only because Professor Fang Peizhi was highly capable and had an impressive research record, but also because the professor wasn't the type to suddenly interrupt class to talk about his child studying abroad or his spouse... Little did he know that once the professor got together with his brother, his sister-in-law instincts would go into overdrive. At the end of every class, he'd casually bring up his brother: “That's it for today. My partner's taking me out for noodles, so I'm off.” Zhao Sheng: ... Wasn't he supposed to be taking me out? In class, the professor shows up in a flashy pink shirt. “Oh, my partner and I have a date today.” Zhao Sheng: Who asked you? At a faculty dinner, the professor's alarm goes off. “I'd better head home. My partner keeps me on a short leash.” Zhao Sheng: Does my brother look like he's keeping you on a leash? Late at night, Zhao Sheng stands by the window like a mouse with its hands behind its back. “Why did I choose to do graduate work under him in the first place...?” An illiterate country boy bottom X a university associate professor top Theme: Grow up well.
