The Infamous Idol

Xi Bubo has a knack for stirring up trouble, is a permanent fixture on trending topics, and has a comment section constantly overrun by haters and self-righteous passersby. His critics are a chorus of voices, and his scandals are regularly dragged out for public judgment. Haters and passersby: "Xi Bubo, you'll never clear your name in this lifetime!" Host: "What do you think about being hated by the entire internet?" Xi Bubo answered honestly: "I look at it on my phone." Comments: "You're asking for it! Provoking everyone! &*#￥,~ 9…" Host: "Don't you have any fans?" Xi Bubo: "Sure I do." Host: "Then why don't they help defend you?" Xi Bubo said shyly, "They all became haters." Not all of them did, though. One famous account was a die-hard Xi Bubo fan. Every night at eleven, they would log on and take on ten thousand haters at once, trading furious insults with them until logging off at dawn. Xi Bubo was the kind of star who was famous for all the wrong reasons, but offers kept rolling in. He chose the project with the biggest paycheck, playing a psychologically twisted gay man. When people heard he had a kissing scene with the megastar Jin Shi, the entire internet exploded. "He bought his way onto the set! Clear your name or get out!" "Disgusting. Xi Bubo must have had scenes added for himself! He's only playing a minor role, and that plot isn't even in the original novel!" "Clear your name, you rotten piece of trash!! (screaming at the top of their lungs) (crawling around in the dark)" The internet was in an uproar. At eleven that night, the aloof megastar who had bought his way onto the set and added scenes logged into an account called "Xi Bubo's Number One Fan." He even hired online shills to fight the haters, staying busy all night long. His brow never relaxed for a moment. He'd gone to all that trouble to get the kissing scene added. Don't you dare get it cut. Later, when Weibo glitched, Jin Shi's secret identity was exposed. The site had barely been fixed before it crashed again. Jin Shi and Xi Bubo's names stayed on the trending list for three whole days. Reporter: "Are you a passionate fan of Xi Bubo?" Jin Shi denied it flat-out. Comments: "Someone must be framing Movie Emperor Jin!" "Exactly, Movie Emperor Jin isn't that kind of person." Jin Shi: "I'm his dream boyfriend." Comments: ... (A story about the internet going wild) A note for readers, come take a look: 1. The scandal about the protagonist being pursued is fake. Why he doesn't refute it involves spoilers. He's absolutely a good person! A precious sweetheart! 2. What you see isn't always the truth. This isn't meant to mock self-righteous passersby. Standing up for what's right is good, and speaking up for victims is good too. But blindly following the crowd and judging someone based on a single sentence is discouraged. 3. No real-life inspirations! No real-life inspirations! No real-life inspirations! The author doesn't follow celebrities. Please don't mention the names of actors, stars, or idols you like in the comments. Whoever you imagine in the role will get hated by the entire internet! Two-dimensional fictional characters are the best!!! 4. Women, go take a dump! Please check out my new story, Secret Crush. Zhou Yun and Ying Yuze both entered Number One High School as top scorers on the high school entrance exam, but they were sworn enemies who couldn't stand each other. The difference was that Ying Yuze, the handsome young man from the north side of town, was tall, long-legged, and strikingly good-looking. He was surrounded by admirers and never lacked people chasing after him. Zhou Yun, on the other hand, was cool and distant. Looking at the pile of love letters covering his desk, one of Ying Yuze's underlings tried to curry favor while putting Zhou Yun down. "You're still the man, Brother Ying. That Zhou Yun kid always has a face like a corpse. He looks like he'd never know how to treat someone right. Forget dating, I bet he hasn't even gotten a love letter." Ying Yuze glanced at the thin figure up ahead and curled his lips into a nasty smile. "Him? Even a dog wouldn't date him." That very night, Ying Yuze woke up transformed into a dog in Zhou Yun's house: a big-bottomed corgi. Ying Yuze: ??? During the first semester of high school, Ying Yuze was intensely curious about Zhou Yun. But every time he engineered a supposedly chance encounter or tried to strike up a conversation, all he got in return was a cold look. Zhou Yun had been patiently explaining a problem to someone just a moment ago. The second he saw Ying Yuze, his face instantly fell. After a while, Ying Yuze stopped being friendly too. Now turned into a dog and sitting in someone's arms, Ying Yuze watched as they admired his photos on Zhou Yun's phone. Zhou Yun's expression was affectionate. "Dazhuang, look how handsome your dad is." Ying Yuze looked at the photo, then at Zhou Yun. Well, I'll be. This little thing has two completely different sides! Later, when one of his underlings saw that Zhou Yun had scored higher than Ying Yuze, he said, "So what if he's good at studying? Zhou Yun wouldn't even date a dog." Ying Yuze's face darkened. "Who are you calling a dog?" Zhou Yun: "If I date, it'll only be a dog." Ying Yuze: "Even as a dog, I'm still the most handsome one!" Theme: What you see isn't always the truth.
