As Heaven's perennial runner-up, Michael has always been the opposite of that perfect Morning Star of Radiance, the Seraphim Archangel Lucifer, who comes first in everything and has not a single flaw.

Lucifer is elegant and meticulous, caring for every strand of hair down to the tips of his toes. Michael, on the other hand, often shows up to morning court in his pajamas, with a bird's nest of uncombed hair.

Lucifer works regular nine-to-five hours, arriving and leaving on time. Michael is always late and leaves early. Even the official business he turns in late comes with greasy fingerprints and a strong smell of alcohol.

Lucifer keeps himself pure, with not a single flirt around him, a model of the Seven Virtues. Michael, meanwhile, flirts around and changes his young, beautiful lovers as often as a revolving lantern. His reputation as a womanizer is known throughout Heaven.

But Michael has one great strength:

He's good at his job.

They call him Heaven's brick: wherever he's needed, that's where he goes.

So what if he's late and leaves early? So what if he slacks off and dozes at work? From new species appearing in Heaven to the Morning Star Palace being less than clean today, Michael takes everything on, truly Heaven's number-one workaholic.

As a result, Michael holds three jobs: Angel of Fire, commander of the angelic army, and Lucifer's aide. In the eyes of his immediate superior, he's an exceptionally capable subordinate.

As for Michael's many shortcomings, Lucifer graciously says:

Angels aren't perfect. You can't demand too much of them; you have to learn to be tolerant.

With Heaven's leader turning a blind eye, Michael becomes increasingly reckless, adding Metatron, Raphael, Asmodeus, and countless others to his list of lovers, throwing all of Heaven into chaos.

Until one day, Michael finally takes things too far--

The ever-cool and self-controlled Seraphim Archangel wakes up after a drunken night to find his aide lying in his arms, clothes in disarray.

For the first time, the noble and holy Seraphim Archangel before the divine throne gives in to a forbidden desire.

He foolishly yearns to pluck the most beautiful red rose in the three realms.

Michael believes he's been more than fair to Lucifer.

He gets paid like a subordinate, but works as an aide, lover, and housekeeper. For tens of thousands of years, he's been available at a moment's notice, come rain or shine. He's processed paperwork and swept the floor, made dinner and shared Lucifer's bed. He's the model employee of the Morning Star Palace.

Lucifer is very pleased with him.

The only thing Michael occasionally complains about is that Lucifer always interrupts him when he's busy with other colleagues, exploring the origins of life.

After a while, Michael finally snaps.

The Seraphim Archangel who corners him has red eyes:

"Michael, how much longer are you going to keep messing around with them?"

Michael: ???
