Playing Tennis Normally Today, Too

[Updated at 11 p.m., five chapters a week with one day off. PS: This is a One-Punch Man hero, one punch!] Bao Gu Hueta, an aspiring hero who took up heroics as a hobby. But when he woke up one day, he realized he seemed to have transmigrated again. Yes, you read that right. He had transmigrated again. This time, though, he had returned from a world full of monsters to his original, peaceful world. He did miss his teacher and the others a little, but he thought his original world suited him better. After all, it was so safe here. But he soon realized that years of training under his teacher in another world, combined with his inability to fully control his strength, meant that whenever he got excited or let his guard down, he could easily lose control. Although his powers had been suppressed quite a bit, he was still frighteningly strong by ordinary people's standards. So, to hide what made him different and relax the nerves that had been on edge ever since he transmigrated to another world, he decided to be an ordinary person and enjoy his middle school life. As for how to hide it... Staring silently and bemusedly at the tennis players on TV, who were showing off all kinds of supernatural abilities and battling fiercely, he suddenly thought that pretending to be an ordinary middle schooler might actually be possible. He might even pull it off perfectly. After all, he was only a little stronger than normal, while everyone else was already breaking free of the laws of science and heading down the path of supernatural tennis. So the best thing to do was join the tennis club and become one of them. Then nobody would notice anything strange about him! The most dangerous place is the safest place. He really was a genius! He just couldn't figure out why people still saw through him. * A newcomer recently joined the Hyotei tennis club. He's ridiculously strong, yet keeps insisting he's an ordinary person and says the word ordinary every chance he gets. Everyone: Fine, you're suuuuper ordinary. At first, everyone accepted his claim with some skepticism. But as time passed, the Hyotei regulars realized how wrong they'd been, because this guy During the club rankings against ordinary teammates: Him: Ordinary strike! Opponent: Unable to continue. During a practice match against a steady opponent: Him: Consecutive ordinary strikes! Opponent: Unable to continue. Even when he faced a somewhat stronger opponent, there wasn't much difference from usual. But keep in mind, this newcomer was facing opponents strong enough to be candidates for the regular lineup! After watching him for a while and deciding he was such a show-off, Mukahi couldn't help shouting, "How is any of this ordinary?! You're obviously strong!" The boy looked confused. "But this is clearly ordinary. And it's nothing compared to my teacher..." Mukahi: ...Are you serious? You'd better not be putting on an act. Watching from the side, Oshitari was just as puzzled, until one day he and the other regulars saw someone challenge the newcomer, asking him to play seriously. * As the challenger sent the ball flying with a technique even the regulars found troublesome, the newcomer, who was always talking about being ordinary, returned it with a pose that looked no different from usual and said: "Serious strike!" They were speechless. Aside from swapping ordinary for serious, wasn't that exactly the same thing?! Then came a loud boom. The ball that had looked so ordinary had smashed a terrifying crater into the ground. Only then did they understand the difference between a serious strike and an ordinary strike. They couldn't even touch the ball he hit back. The black-haired boy looked down at the yellow tennis ball still spinning in the crater and calmly said, "As expected, compared to my teacher, that strike was still too ordinary." Everyone: No, no, you're not ordinary at all! * Bonus scene: One day, they finally couldn't resist asking how his teacher had trained him. They got a dead-serious answer: "One hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, one hundred..." Everyone: Is he serious? This training is less intense than their regular club practice... Everyone suddenly understood: So Bao Gu himself really is the problem! Reader's notes: 1. Nobody will hit a ball so hard it punches through the Earth's surface, but there will be balls that smash through walls and floors. The power levels will be toned down. 2. The protagonist is strong, but he'll develop his own special moves later. He's not just relying on strength. 3. Thanks to my friend Teacup for editing the blurb. I love her so much! Theme: Strive bravely and fight hard.
