(I wrote this one quite a while ago as a bit of entertainment during a period when I was working overtime nonstop. I originally wrote it just for fun, so it has lots of typos, awkward sentences, and missing bits. Sorry about that. If you're still interested, here's the synopsis below.)
Every day, Alston wakes up and has to check whether he's still mentally sound.
At school, he plays the part of a model student with good grades and impeccable conduct, while also playing hard to get with the Dark Lord. Outside school, he plays the leader of a third-party faction interfering in the Death Eaters' and Order of the Phoenix's frontline battles, while also playing hard to get with Dumbledore.
Seeing his roommate's hair, greasy from staying up all night brewing potions, Alston pulls back the hand he'd been about to use to relieve his stress by ruffling someone else's hair.
"I still need to get a long-haired pet. At least I won't get yelled at for stroking a cat, dog, or rabbit," Alston thinks, then glances at his roommate, whose brow is faintly furrowed.
Thinking about his future as someone with a split personality, Alston feels heavy-hearted, but can't find a way to express it. "Take it from an upperclassman: people really shouldn't give themselves too many personas."
Snape finally pours the potion from his cauldron into a cup and holds it out to Alston. "Drink this."
Alston: "Have you finally decided to poison me?"
