[Harry Potter] Child of Darkness

When Dumbledore asks Snape to find a few owls missing from the school, the latter thinks the request is ridiculous. Since when is a Potions Professor of his stature responsible for such meaningless trifles? But he doesn't find the owls. Instead, he finds a huge, long-lasting headache. Snape can't understand it. Based on what he, and indeed the entire Wizarding World, knows about his former employer, the man whose name must not be spoken would never have left behind any children, let alone an illegitimate one. Yet the facts are right in front of him: a black-haired boy of eleven is sitting on the floor before Dumbledore, cuddling his beloved pet snake. The enrollment letter clearly bears the name Riddle, written in bright green ink that seems to flaunt the name it has just written. Snape does his best not to look at the headmaster's beaming face. All he wants is to get away from this child immediately, or destroy him. Either would do, as long as he doesn't have to lay eyes on him again. And yet... "I couldn't be more relieved to leave Tom in your care." Help! My current boss wants me to raise my former boss's child. I want to file a labor dispute. A few things to know before reading: 1. The story follows the original plot throughout and centers on Snape. 2. The protagonist has no romantic pairing. All other characters have their canon pairings. 3. Except for changes to Snape, all other characters' endings are the same as in the original. 4. The male lead is an original character, Voldemort's illegitimate son. 5. This story will take a long time to finish, but I will never abandon it. There is a reader group you can contact. I won't leave you hanging, so feel free to start reading. Theme: Love can overcome any distance, no matter how high the mountains or wide the seas
