At the start of the apocalypse, the disaster wasn't too severe yet.

After crossing a perilous forest, they reached Z City, once known as the "Brilliant Pearl" before the apocalypse.

It was eerily silent. To everyone's astonishment, steel-like spider silk covered the entire city.

In the middle of the desolate city, the landmark it had once been so proud of was wrapped in spider silk, forming a snow-white nest.

It stood atop the nest, half human and half spider.

The spider, in heat, had found an intruding "bug."

4. The Propagation of the Species

On September 28, 3202, scientists discovered a dead extraterrestrial organism aboard the International Space Station.

To study it further, they brought it back to life.

In the transparent incubator, the sleeping organism opened all thirty-two of its eyes.

It stared at the researcher outside the glass, its compound eyes reflecting the fragile, warm body of a human.

As the last survivor of its species, its genetic memory told it that this would make an excellent brood nest.

[Reproduction is an instinct of life.]

[As the sole survivor, it needs more of its own kind.]

After completing his mission and returning to the Transmigration Administration
