If you asked which organization in Detective Conan has the bleakest future, what would it be? --A certain famous liquor company. Put the two together, and Miyazaki Rian transmigrates as a member of the liquor company sent to infiltrate the FBI. In his previous life, he was a maverick assassin who had spent over a decade matching wits with the FBI. Then he wakes up one day to discover that he is now the FBI? Miyazaki Rian: There's no way I'm joining the FBI. Not in this lifetime. The liquor company: Then welcome aboard. You'll start at the bottom and work your way up. The FBI: We'll give you a promotion and a raise. You'll be our youngest inspector in nearly fifty years. Miyazaki Rian: ... (gently smashes a bottle) Miyazaki Rian: I don't know any liquor company. I'm now a promising new FBI inspector. He keeps his veteran liquor-company identity under wraps and acts up on the good guys' side while wearing his FBI secret identity. A child passing by: Mommy, so the guy drinking, dyeing his hair, and beating people up in the street is FBI! FBI agents whose reputation has taken a hit: No, that's not true! Let us explain! Later, just as Miyazaki Rian is worrying about how to bring down the Organization, he suddenly discovers that this world contains some strange things... For example: He goes to a liquor-company meeting, only for MI6 to storm in and blow the place up. The leader who almost took out the entire Organization is Mycroft. When he meets a partner on a mission in Europe, he notices the man's pink-haired daughter constantly staring at him strangely. He also learns by chance that the Organization's third-in-command, second only to Rum, is a horse-faced man with curly hair, and is actually the famous great detective! ...Help! This fake liquor has way too much alcohol in it! Miyazaki Rian, holding his secret identity close: ...Liquor company, how about you just blow yourselves up? At least you might keep some dignity. Neither ever imagined that one day they'd have to work together and live under the same roof... And on their very first day living together, they both ended up injured again... A certain grade-school detective, furious: If you're going to fight, take it outside. Don't fight in my house. Their defiant gazes meet in midair, sparks flying, neither willing to back down first. Compromise? Not a chance. [Reading notes] 1. This is primarily a Detective Conan story, with a little from some British and American TV shows and other odd things. You can still enjoy it without knowing those works; just think of them as original characters. 2. This is a plot-driven story with author-created details and combined worldviews (for example, a world where human cloning is legal, later overturned by the protagonists). It includes science fiction elements, mainly through advances in medicine and life sciences. 3. The overall tone is light and funny, but this isn't pure wish fulfillment. The male lead isn't top-tier in either fighting or intelligence, and is occasionally outmatched by characters from the original work. There are ups and downs. 4. The protagonist is firmly on the good guys' side and has no mercy for the bad guys. He really does arrange prison time and other forms of punishment. XD 5. The human cloning medical bill and Ferris wheel bombing cases take place in chapters 42-67 and are complete. Skip them if you find them depressing or dislike dramatic twists. Chapters 47 and 48 contain important romantic developments and are recommended. 6. The FBI is the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States. MI6 is Britain's Secret Intelligence Service, the organization Akai's parents belong to. 7. Eighty percent of the story is protected from unauthorized access. Every short arc is related to the main plot, and there are many clues, so it's not recommended to skip lots of chapters. 8. There will be character deaths.
