Matsuda, Matsuda

[New story now underway: After Matsuda Becomes a Game NPC]

[No derivative works involving crossovers or watch-along reactions]

Before the death swap, do not approach or influence another version of yourself or anyone connected to them.

Matsuda Jinpei’s most important childhood friend died in a hasty explosion.

He pursued the bomber for four years, but accidentally got caught up in the schemes of a vast, dark organization. When he died on the Ferris wheel, he had regrets, but no remorse.

A year later, one familiar pair of catlike eyes was missing from the people visiting his grave. Two years after that, only the blond bastard was left.

Matsuda Jinpei: ? Can you people get it together or not?

Another year passed, and the blond bastard was gone too.

Then he met [Sheila].

I can reverse the flow of time and bring the dead back to life.

What do I have to give up?

A trivial price.

[Death swap between Matsuda Jinpei and Hagiwara Kenji successful.]

Matsuda Jinpei returned to seven years ago... seventeen years ago.

Sheila: As I said before, there are now two Matsudas in the world. Where would you like me to send the second one?

Matsuda Jinpei: Into that dark organization?

Remember:

1. Before the death swap, there are two Matsuda Jinpeis in this world.

2. Before the death swap, do not approach or influence the other you or anyone connected to them.

From then on, the Black Organization gained a ruthless, cold-blooded mechanical genius, a senior member loyal only to that great man.

He stepped into the darkness.

Even though he has a notorious reputation, do you still think he has an honest heart?

Yes.

Even if he wants to kill you, do you still believe he’s Matsuda?

Yes.

Someone held up a light for him.

The curly-haired classmate who had been dead for two years reappeared as Korn, a senior member of the organization.

Newly code-named Officer Furuya made a calm assessment.

It was a scheme by the organization. He couldn’t get close.

The next day, the whole distillery knew that Bourbon still had feelings for Korn.

Morofushi advised his half-long-haired classmate, who was investigating his childhood friend:

Safety first. Take it one step at a time.

The next day, the whole distillery knew that some cop had flirted with Korn to his face.

Rye asked, “What about you?”

Scotch: “I only put a coat over Korn’s shoulders.”

Rye: “I heard you did it right in front of Gin.”

Scotch smiled. “I heard you and Bourbon got into a fight in Korn’s safe house in the middle of the night. Is that true?”

P.S.:

1. Lots of headcanon, altered timeline, and out-of-character moments.

2. Lots of misunderstandings and fake angst. Side characters imagine romantic pairings, but this story has no couples or one-sided crushes, and it has a happy ending.

3. I won’t take writing advice and won’t make changes.

4. Please don’t mention other authors’ stories under mine, or mine under theirs. Thanks for understanding.

5. The author loves every member of the good-guy faction. Please don’t post negative comments about the original good-guy characters. If you don’t like them, please don’t hurt them.

"The Dragon-Blooded Hero Helped Me Get Revenge"

In a power fantasy, there’s always a sidekick who sacrifices himself for the Dragon-Blooded Hero.

He’d take a blade for the hero, and the hero would provide for his whole family.

He Yu was one of them.

He knew he didn’t want to defy fate. He was doing this willingly, but he still had to guard against a common scenario.

So, with his last bit of strength, as he lay dying, he grabbed his boss’s hand.

“Don’t forget... Don’t forget...”

Don’t forget my sister. Stop coming up with excuses to visit my house every day.

His boss’s hand was stiffer than stone, his lips straighter than a ruler.

“I hate the way you... If I’d known, I wouldn’t have...”

I hate how you’ve always kept your mouth shut, ever since we were kids. If I’d known you liked her, I would’ve put in a good word for you. I wouldn’t have set her up with that flaky guy.

He Yu died from talking too much.

When he woke up again, he was thirty minus twelve.

He’d become the illegitimate son of his boss’s mortal enemy.

A face that looked thirty percent like his, but a life treated a hundred percent differently.

“Get out!”

The hotel bed was soft, the lighting seductive. The floor was hard, and his knees hurt as he knelt on it.

He Yu stood up, avoiding the shards of a wine bottle his boss had just smashed on the floor.

“How many times have I told you not to drink outside? You know how awful you get when you’re drunk. You hug everyone and won’t let go.

“Give me your hand. I’ll see if it needs a bandage... Uh, Mr. Shang?”

Shang Mouhe thought he’d gone mad.

How could he... How dare he... mistake him for someone else?
