The candidate Qiao Wuchu was proctoring gouged out his own eyes right there: "Teacher, my eyes are gone, so I can't answer the questions. Lend me yours, and I'll give them back when I'm done." [Proctor, please promptly fulfill the student's request and help them complete the exam!] The System blared alarms, frantically urging her on. Qiao Wuchu silently enabled the computer's accessibility mode for the blind. "Good luck." She added, "It's a smart AI reader, specially for the blind." Candidate: "..." The candidates deliberately failed, taking the test over and over to keep the players trapped in the exam hall, as if they could go on failing for the rest of their lives. What Do You Mean, the Apocalypse? Blurb: The apocalypse arrives, but humanity gains no superpowers, no pocket dimensions, and no System. As someone with experience surviving in an infinite world, Qiao Meng sensibly starts stockpiling supplies before disaster strikes: rice, flour, canned food, medicine, water, lighters, fire starters, and even a shelter. She waits for the apocalypse to arrive. Although Qiao Meng goes about everything like a sneaky little cat, someone still notices. "When the neighbors stockpile food, I stockpile guns. The neighbors are my pantry." When the guy next door comes at her with a cleaver, chanting his slogan as he tries to rob her, Qiao Meng pulls out the compound bow and chainsaw she prepared in advance. "I stockpile food and guns. Come over, and you'll be my pantry." There's no way she's getting robbed. During the group's struggle to survive, the power grid completely collapses and lighting becomes a problem. While everyone contributes kerosene lamps, spirit lamps, and firewood, Qiao Meng brings out a pedal generator and several trucks of diesel, then politely asks, "I heard we're short on electricity?" When the water station is overrun and the supply is cut off completely, water becomes a problem. While everyone fetches filthy, contaminated river water and prepares to boil it, Qiao Meng lays out a water filter and hundreds of purification tablets, then calmly says, "Add some of this. It'll help." When a teammate on a wilderness scouting mission is injured and plans to tough it out until medical help arrives, the others search for wild medicinal herbs. Qiao Meng holds up a box of penicillin in her left hand and a packet of Banlangen in her right, and asks with concern, "Which do you prefer?" From a toolbox full of useful supplies to an emergency medical kit, Qiao Meng has everything prepared and knows how to use it all. She even knows how to care for a sow after it gives birth.
