The Hunger Academy (Infinite Survival)

Thanks for supporting my upcoming novel, Gods in the Ruins! Blurb: This is the fourth year since it appeared. Some people jokingly call it the “National Destiny Exam,” but most still call it the “Hunger Games,” a game that decides whether the country will be starving or prosperous in the future. A new round of the Hunger Games has begun. Ji Xinghai has transmigrated again. And again. He’s transmigrated into the body of some unlucky sap who was randomly selected to take part in the “Hunger Games.” Before he can figure out what’s going on, a sobbing, gray-black, wrinkled, dried-up mushroom appears in front of him. The dried-up mushroom, scientific name Thelephora ganbajun, is edible. Stir-fried with streaky pork and green peppers, it has the aroma of cured beef, ham, dried fish, wind-dried chicken, and duck gizzards. “Dried-up mushroom fried rice!” Ji Xinghai produces a wok, a spatula, and a bowl of white rice. Dried-up mushroom (crossed out), delicious dried-up mushroom: ...!!! He has no idea that hundreds of millions of viewers are watching him live right now. “Stop!” “That’s a Class Three anomalous creature, Black-Crowned Mushroom!” [Ding! Trainee Ji Xinghai has awakened the talent “Gluttony.”] [If it tastes good, it’s an ingredient. If it tastes bad, it’s medicine. If it can’t be eaten, it’s building material. But I’ll eat anything!] P.S. A pure wish-fulfillment story with national destiny elements. No angst, and set in a fictional world. The male lead is handsome, strong, a bit unhinged, and not a good person. He’ll become a generation’s beloved ideal. The story includes stereotypes about other countries. If that bothers you, please stop reading in time. Food-hunting Ji Xinghai & the inscrutable examiner Qin Yu ********* Upcoming novel: Gods in the Ruins ********** Blurb: (Manuscript in progress, expected to start in late April) Qing Jiu, from a world of magical beasts, accidentally enters a world shrouded in mist. Without an ID, he becomes a marriage-broker’s sabotage specialist in exchange for one. On the day the deal is done, the victim comes knocking. “Do you know that young lady already had a fiancé? That was me.” The victim, handsome but menacing, glances sidelong at him as his towering shadow closes in step by step. Qing Jiu feels like running, but the victim grabs his arm. [An intelligent creature with an evil attribute detected. The Breeding House is locating... Location acquired. One hundred percent integration. All-purpose assistant online. Long time no see, dear master.] His golden finger has returned. Without a second thought, Qing Jiu grabs the hand of his future charge and asks, “Do you need a family doctor?” “?” “Free. No, market rate.” * A new Breeding House for awakened people has opened in District 43. It claims it can cure disaster bodies and teach people how to cultivate. Everyone scoffs. “Doesn’t everyone know disaster bodies are hated by both gods and men? Just chasing attention, are they?” “Abilities, talent, and comprehension are inborn. I’ve never heard of anyone being able to teach them.” Everyone waits for a joke, but Lou Yan walks through the door. And then... he gets better. He gets stronger. An advertisement appears outside the Breeding House: Does your talent and circumstances fail to match your hard work? Come to me. I’ll make up for what you lack by nature and correct your acquired shortcomings. If there’s no path, I’ll carve one out for you. A professional trainer will be by your side. * To Qing Jiu, Lou Yan is an ideal charge. He follows every plan to the letter and provides all the material support he needs. It’s just that he keeps trying to compete with Qing Jiu’s work for his attention, grinding his teeth and craving more. He’s hard to placate. The broken swordsman, the exiled invalid, the genius from the slums... the world’s fallen heroes all come to the Breeding House. The more famous you get, the more admirers you attract. Everyone’s betting on whom the trainer will accept, and how many. Lou Yan climbs through the window in the dead of night to block Qing Jiu’s way, kissing him until he melts. “They’re all bad people. Choose me.” Important warnings: 1. The blurb is only a guide. Read the story for yourself. It has an old-school feel, so don’t overthink the characters’ values. 2. A wish-fulfillment story with a male protagonist who is the bottom. One-on-one, with mutual feelings. Along the way, many characters will admire him, with several unrequited crushes on him. There may be some bottom-shaming, and the story includes coercion and rivalry over him. 3. This is a lawless society. The bottom protagonist is universally adored, and everyone has low morals without guilt or self-recrimination. 4. The comments belong to the readers. 5. Updated daily. Theme: Cherish food and don’t waste it.
