Did the Distillery Investigator Summon an Outer God Today?

[Next up: The Dog Chasing Me Can’t Stop Me from Dating the Former Ace of the Bomb Disposal Squad] As a tabletop role-playing game player, Kusano Saku was summoned to another world by a suspicious System. It wanted him to become a real investigator, complete a ritual, and summon an Outer God. [You have 480 attribute points across eight attributes. If the distillery’s employees were liquor and the undercover agents were water, then investigators were liquor mixed with Fukushima seawater. Under the influence of the dice, their thinking was bizarre and their behavior downright eccentric, turning their lives into performance art. Gin sneered. “Explain why you didn’t follow orders.” Kusano Saku: “Because according to the rules, I have to go insane for three hours first.” Shuichi Akai: “Getting hit by someone at your level is the greatest shame of my life.” Kusano Saku: “I didn’t want to get hit either. What can I do if I roll a critical success on my shot?” Conan: “Red or black, where do you really stand?” Kusano Saku: “You’re asking which side I’m on? Of course I’m... right in the middle!” After countless trials and tribulations, Kusano Saku stood by the sea and recited the summoning spell, eagerly ready to risk his life for a glimpse of the unknown. The spell’s light flared. He opened his eyes, prepared to gaze upon an indescribable horror, only to see something crawl out of the sea as the light faded... An ugly fish-headed man. [Your shock is so great that you lose 0/1 Sanity.] Deep Ones in the ocean, ghouls in the sewers, swamp people spreading in secret... Did the distillery’s investigator summon an Outer God today? No. Not only did he fail to summon an Outer God, he also ended up on the path to saving the world. Tips: 1. A lot of changes for creative purposes. This is mainly for entertainment. 2. There will definitely be no pairing. [↓↓↓? “Inherited the Experience System from a Grinding Game” I woke up one morning to find I’d suddenly gotten an experience system that quantified all sorts of things as experience points. Filling my experience bar leveled me up, and leveling up made me stronger. I thought I must be the chosen one after getting the System, but as soon as I stepped outside, I saw an ugly monster wandering down the street. After dealing with it, I looked at my considerably fuller experience bar and bent down to pick up the materials it dropped. This was just like one of those farmable monsters in a game. I figured I understood the whole thing now. After all that, my inner grinding-game fanatic was completely fired up. So when the principal asked me why I wanted to become a jujutsu sorcerer, I answered without hesitation. I said, “To become a true grinder.” Principal: ? Seeing his bemused expression, I immediately changed my answer, afraid I might get expelled. “To train myself to become the strongest.” The white-haired homeroom teacher beside us, who looked completely unreliable, burst out laughing for no apparent reason. Thinking this school seemed a bit unreliable, I immediately went outside and found myself a private tutor. The bald teacher with no hair taught me, “Do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and run 10 kilometers every day. That’ll make you stronger.” Looking at my rising experience bar, I thought he was absolutely right. I was happy with my life, grinding for experience every day. If there was anything that seemed off... It was probably that some of the things being quantified seemed a little trivial. System: You slept. You walked. You ate. You got stronger! ...Maybe that was also necessary training on the path to becoming strong, I thought. Theme: Work hard to achieve your dreams.
