When Lucien became a paladin, he swore an oath to use his power to uphold justice and fight evil.
He carefully kept his oath, and in return, the oath rewarded him with great power.
But he didn't know it was just an overpowered character build copied by a player from a guide.
After discovering that he had transmigrated and escaped the System's control, Lucien saw his character stat sheet appear before his eyes.
The average Intelligence score for an ordinary person was 10, while his own was plainly listed as an "8."
Lucien didn't care. In the mere ten minutes since he had transmigrated, he had already completed three cycles of being stopped and robbed, killing the robbers instead, and then being stopped and robbed again.
What kind of wretched city was this?
The paladin, convinced that the city's people must be suffering terribly, decided to lend them his strength.
-
Gotham's criminals had noticed that a sweet, naive idiot with something wrong in his head had recently appeared in the city.
They easily deceived him with lies and lured him into an ambush, planning to teach this innocent, gullible knight a lesson.
Then, in the pitch-black night, a dazzling flash of Holy Smite burst forth.
The villain, knocked to the ground by a greatsword, shouted, "Did you know I was lying all along and deliberately play along with me?"
The paladin with an Intelligence of only 8 said, "Huh? So there really isn't a mother here who needs help?"
-
Batman, who had hurried over after hearing about it, said, "...You believed a lie like that?"
Lucien, with golden hair and blue eyes, and so stiffly proper he seemed to have stepped straight out of a knight's oath, slung his greatsword over his back and gave Batman a sunny smile. "Forgive me. My Intelligence is only 8, after all."
The good news: Insight, the skill used to detect lies, doesn't depend on Intelligence. It depends on an attribute called Wisdom.
The bad news...
His Wisdom was also 8.
