When I woke up one morning, I found that I had suddenly gained an experience-point System that quantified all sorts of things as experience.
Once I accumulated enough experience, I would level up, and leveling up would make me stronger.
After getting the System, I thought I had to be the chosen one. But when I left the house, I saw an ugly monster wandering the street.
After dealing with it, I looked at my much fuller experience bar and bent down to pick up the materials it had dropped.
It was just like a grindable monster in a game. I felt like I understood everything now.
After all that, my inner grinding-game spirit was fully ignited. So when the principal asked me, "Why do you want to become a sorcerer?" I answered without hesitation.
I said, "To become a true grinder."
Principal: ?
Seeing his strange expression, I was afraid of getting expelled, so I immediately changed my answer. "To train myself to become the strongest."
The white-haired homeroom teacher beside us, who looked completely unreliable, burst out laughing for no apparent reason.
Feeling like this school might be a little unreliable, I immediately went outside to find myself a private tutor.
The bald teacher, who had no hair at all, taught me: "One hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, one hundred squats, and a ten-kilometer run every day. That's how you'll get stronger."
Looking at my rising experience bar, I felt he was absolutely right.
I was happy with my life, fighting on the front line of the experience grind every day. If anything felt off...
It was probably that some of the things being quantified seemed a little trivial.
System: You slept. You walked. You ate. You got stronger!
...Maybe this was also necessary training for becoming strong, I thought.
CP undecided.
